Stephen Ministry Training Stephen Ministry (SM), a part of the Pastoral Care Ministry Team at Trinity, has been active in the congregation for 30 years this year. SMs are training to provide one on one distinctively Christian care to people who may be experiencing significant life events such as grief, job loss, illness, aging issues or relationship changes among other life events.
To be commissioned, SMs must complete fifty hours of classroom training. Once commissioned, SMs must regularly attend twice monthly Supervision sessions that include small group supervision and Continuing Education.
During the last church year, SMs provided over 2100 hours of care through visitation, congregational prayer ministers and conducting Eucharistic ministry to homebound congregational members.
The next training class for SMs will begin in January 2020. Would you consider joining us? If yes, please contact Joan Jolly, Liz Gimmestad, Sheri Kasen or Marti Derickson. You could also send an email to [email protected].
