CANCER SURVIVOR PROGRAM
Cancer Survivor Strength & Rehabilitation Program The Hamden/North Haven YMCA is very proud to an-nounce the implementation of the Cancer Survivor Strength & Rehabilitation Program. The CSSR Program is designed to help improve the strength and physical function of cancer survivors—the majority of whom are older adults who have become deconditioned from the disease itself or from treatment. The primary goals consist of helping individuals build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Secondary goals include reducing the severity of therapy side effects, prevent-ing unwanted weight changes, and improving quality of sleep, energy levels, mood, body image and self esteem. The long-term objective is to help participants develop and maintain their own physical fitness programs, which become a vital part of their lives. Program Eligibility: Both men and women of all ages are eligible to participate in the CSSR Program. CSSR Personal Fitness Program The CSSR Personal Fitness Program is designed for participants who are looking for private 1 on 1 training with a Personal Trainer. Days & times will be sched-uled on a personal level with the trainer. CSSR Personal Fitness Fees 5 Sessions Y Members Community $100.00 $200.00 10 Sessions $180.00 $360.00
