Hospital and Clinic is a collection of formal / purpose built and repurposed buildings which have evolved to meet the growing needs of the facility. Whilst efforts have been made to maintain the facility over the years, the reality is that the facility is in dire need of a revamp. The outcome of the project will be a warmer, more ergonomically friendly environment for not only staff as they attend to their feathered, furred or scaled patients; but also for the patients and their companions (owners) so that clinic consultations, admissions, or euthanasia at the facility would be the best and most humane service “we” could provide. Our goal is to bring people together and support the interactivity between the numerous cultures residing in our town. The Alliance Française is headed by a committee made of volunteers, a Director and a team of teachers.

Our activities:

We offer adult evening classes for people wanting to learn French, our classroom is situated at Merrifield College.

Once a month the Alliance Française will organise a gathering. It can be a dinner

If you've ever been lucky enough to see one of the Bats’ fabulous shows you’ll know that Eddie Eckstein, Paul Ditchfield, Pete Clifford and Derek Gordon enjoy entertaining their audiences as much as the audience enjoys watching them. These four wonderful musi-cians will take you on a nostalgic and hilarious journey that spans the "40 something" years they’ve been in

Be sure to keep your calendars open on the 17th of July because

this is an event you certainly don't want to miss! After a rearing success last year, the Milkshed team will be hosting their 2nd annual Mandela Day Car Boot Sale – think delicious food, farm fresh fare, vintage clothing, home décor, arts & crafts, and much more. And what’s best is that it is all in aid of charity! The idea behind the 2015 event was to host a ‘Car Boot Sale with a difference’ and in so doing create an opportunity for people to come together on Mandela Day, to do ‘their bit for their community’ while having a good time in the process. It also presented the opportunity for the East London community to experience a taste of what our amazing local producers and artisans have to offer. Entrance to the event is R10, which is donated to the cause of your choice.

In exchange for your entry fee visitors are given a cork, which they can place in one of the selected charity ‘milk cans.’ Choose to donate your entry fee to Random Acts of Kindness, Animals, Children, the Elderly, or Environment causes. Last year the team was able to raise an impressive R19 265 and this year will be looking to do even better. Milkshed is a local non-profit organisation that uses reclaimed wood to produce handmade wooden furniture. Their beautiful range of products is sold via their online shop (www.milkshed.co.za) and the profit from the sale of their products is channeled into various social upliftment projects. If you’d like to book a spot to sell your goods contact the team on [email protected] cost for a spot is R167.

17th July 2016, 10am – 2pm, Spargs Parking Lot, Beacon Bay.
