Summer Splash Drive-Thru lunch
On June 5th, Community Day Services staff hosted a Summer Splash Lunch in
the main building parking lot. We kicked off the new month with tasty food,
laughter, and water gun splashes! There's no better way to spend a hot
summer day. But Opportunity House employees didn't stay hot for too long!
Cars full of our Residential and Community Support clients joyfully tossed
water balloons at them. Don't worry, employees got even with water gun
splashes! We sure know how to have fun at Opportunity House!
Having Fun and Staying Safe During SocialDistancing
This summer may be a little different, but summer 2020 doesn't have to be a
bummer! Let's not dwell on all of the activities that have been canceled.
Instead, let's focus on the fun activities we can do at home or while social
distancing. Here are some activity ideas inspired by our clients for you to try at
home!
Get creative! Painting, drawing, sewing, and DIY projects are greatways to be creative.
We had some fun making thesegroovy tie-dye shirts at the Lindenhouse!
Stay active! Going for a jog, riding abike, and taking your dog on a walkare safe ways to break a sweat.
The Linden house residents werespending the day playing basketball!
Don't forget to get some fresh air! Open the windows and feel the breeze. Lay
out in the sun and receive vitamin D. Have a BBQ with your family and eat
outdoors.

touch the sky!

Be in touch with nature! Try bird watching, growing vegetables, and planting agarden. Taking time out of your day to admire flowers, trees, and animals canbe relaxing.
The ladies at Maplewood planted beautiful flowers. We can't wait to see howmuch more they will blossom!

off their stylish sunglasses.
Quote of the Month
Shaylee is proud to share with you all that she has recently graduated in May
from Northern Illinois University with a degree in corporate communication
studies! She is excited to begin the next chapter of her life with Opportunity
House.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling and writing. Her favorite travel
experience was to the Philippines where she stayed for a month! She is
currently working on launching a blogging site where she will write blogs
focused on fashion and lifestyle.
If she could star in any movie she would choose the 80's movie, Sixteen
Candles. She never gets tired of that movie no matter how many times she
watches it.
