Fall is right around the corner, kids are back in school, and it’s my
favorite time of year! It’s our Best Selling season too, and that makes me so
happy. I love to wrap up Beautiful Holiday products and I know they are
always so well received by the recipients!
Our First Star Quarter ends September 15th, and my Goal for our
Area is 100 stars! It is so important to have a full pantry of products for this
Holiday Season. You’ll be more confident when you have all the products
your customers want … Right Now!
The new lip colors are beautiful, and I absolutely adore the new
Repair Peel! I loved seeing a Kiss & Tell Booth that Sheila, Debbie and
Denise just did. Get involved in your community’s Fall and Holiday Booths!
It will give you ability to socialize about your business and get lots of leads!
Fall is full of Booth opportunities. Check with your local Chamber of
Commerce for events in your area!
September’s Team Building Special is the perfect reason to

After talking to dozens and dozens of consultants and being married to one for the last five years, I’ve come to believe
the reason more consultants don’t achieve what they want is because they lack the self-discipline and self-motivation
to get the job done.
I know the problem doesn’t lie in the training the company provides – I’ve seen more training books and tapes in my
house in the last five years than the Library of Congress holds. I know the problem doesn’t lie in networking – it seems
there’s a Mary Kay meeting, workshop, Seminar or Career Conference going on somewhere in America every day of the
week. I know the problem isn’t lack of incentives – I’ve seen my wife work for a $1.50 pin what she wouldn’t do for
an $800.00 paycheck. No one could ever accuse Mary Kay, Inc. of being ―tight‖ in the prize department.
No … I think the bottom line is that the majority of consultants lack the self-discipline and self-motivation to get the job done. I also am a sales person, but I work for a
company that tells me what I have to do every day. If I don’t meet my quotas, I have to do quite a bit of explaining. My supervisors don’t want to hear ―excuses‖ – they
are only interested in ―reasons and in ―results‖. Needless to say, I meet my quota every week I work.
A typical work day for me consists of two Sales Action Plans (a recruiting interview to consultants), ten trace calls (coaching, reorders, and pre-profiling), two in-house face-to
-face appointments (skin care classes), and five thank you notes.
With Mary Kay commission structure being what it is, I bet an entire month’s paycheck that if a Mary Kay consultant booked ten classes and ten interviews a week, coached
or pre-profiled ten prospects a day, and mailed out five thank you notes a day, she would make in ONE MONTH, what most people make in ONE YEAR. It’s a very simple
workday. And an extremely profitable one too. I suspect that if your husband came home and told you he didn’t ―feel like working‖, he’d be eating his meals at our house.
It’s true that as Mary Kay consultants you have been given a gold mine. It’s also true however that the gold mine must be mined!!!
