The goal for this year may be a challenge, but it is nothing

compared to the challenge many suffer with each and every

day of their lives, especially today as the Coronavirus has

affected so many of our neighbors. It is not too late to join

your fellow parishioners with a pledge or gift to this year’s

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal! All pledges can be paid through

December 31, 2020 towards this year’s Appeal. Your gift will

make a difference in the lives of countless individuals.

www.archdioceseofhartford.org. All funds contributed to the

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal are used exclusively for the pur-

poses outlined in the Appeal literature, which can be found at

archdiocesofhartford.org/appeal/. No Appeal funds are ever

used for legal fees or settlements.

Weekend Masses will resume the weekend of July 11th

and 12th. There will be Masses on Sundays at 9:00 and

10:30am. The restrictions required by the Archdiocese

must be observed, which means mask must be worn by

everyone throughout the Mass and spaced seating. Any-

one planning to attend needs to notify the office by email

([email protected]) or phone (860) 677-2639. Seating

capacity will be 65 in the upper church and approximately

45 in the lower church (hall). Mass will be broadcast live to

the church hall with communion being distributed either

by the deacon or a Eucharistic minister at communion

time. This means that approximately 120 people can at-

tend each Mass, however, live streaming will continue.

The times set are purely experimental with the possibility

of change and/or the addition of other Masses. In Sep-

tember, depending on the requirements and restrictions

of the Archdiocese, the weekend Mass schedule should be

permanently fixed. Funeral Masses with restrictions are

already being celebrated. Baptisms are being celebrated

by individual arrangements with the Pastor. Thank you for

your understanding and cooperation.

Phase I is Complete!! Thank you to everyone who contributed to

There’s still time to submit your favorite recipes! Send your reci-pes for appetizers, breakfast dishes, soups, salads, side dish-es, entrees, desserts and bever-ages and they will be organized and put into “Secrets from the Confessional and other culinary delights, Part 2.”

Please send your favorite recipes to Pat Moran, either by email: [email protected] or regular mail: 4 Waterford Place, Avon, CT 06001 - ASAP and we will be on our way! The goal is to have the cookbook ready for sale by the Fall. Also, if you would like to be part of the committee that is developing this project, please call Pat at (860) 539-4499. It is going to be fun putting every-thing together and then planning the “Cookbook Reveal.” All proceeds will go to St. Patrick Church to help defray the loss of donations during this trying time, which has affected each and every one of us. Remember the old adage “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” We, the parishioners of St. Patrick’s Church, are a family that will make the sweetest lemonade!
