Hypothesis: We think that the rocks come from the mountains that used to be on Earth during Pangea.

-The rocks contain several striations indicating their may be a variation of mineral in the rock.

-The rocks contain several different layers and some of those layers contain crystals.

-Some of the rocks closer to ground were covered in moss or plants.

-There are several faults in the rocks -The rocs are very cracked and rough -The rocks

Where the rocks come from in your neighborhood?

Some of the rocks are broking in many pieces.

Some of the rocks are changing color from light color to darker color.

The rock are broken because of weathering.

Essential QuestionsQ: What evidence can be found to demonstrate the forces that shaped the rocks in your environment?

Observations: slopes were formed in the rocksthe cracks in the rocks show signs of weatheringmost of the rock was sedimentary, but part of the rock was metamorphic

Hypothesis: The large rock is made of smaller rocks that were joined because of applied pressure .

Conclusion: The sedimentary rock found was in the process of becoming metamorphic rock through heat and pressure. This shows that a portion of the rock was further in the process than the rest of the rock. It also proves my hypothesis incorrect.

stevens, ericka Huiracocha Hypotheses: The force of the water may

have been a possible force of rocks considening the dent of the rocks and how they look.

The rocks in the nabior hood came from the middle proterozic period.

Rock formations were on different levels. There’s indents in the rocks. There’s different shades of rock. There’s visible volcanic ash on rock. Holes and imprints are in the rock.

Essential Question: Were did the rocks in our neighborhood come from? The rocks in our neighborhood came from the Cambrian and Ordovician periods 500 million years ago .

Observations : shiny, rough, crystals, bumpy, and layers .Hypotheses: I think the rocks are

going to be different shapes and sizes because they all weren’t created at the same exact time . I also think that some rocks will have crystals because they’re intrusive rocks, and some will not have crystals because they’re extrusive rocks.

Essential Question: Where do rocks in our neighborhood come from?

Observations: Igneous rock, holes in the rocks, natural minerals, human impact change the rock, life grows out the rock

Hypotheses: The rock was first formed at the bottom of the earth then was pushed out because of the fire.

Condition: The rocks condition is burnt and turning green because of the nature around them. The second picture the rocks condition is rough and has bumps.

Essential Question: What evidence can be found to demonstrate forces that shape the rock in our environment?-We can find intrusion & weathering and different properties that effected the rocks and caused the rock to split up.

1) Weathering2) Intrusion 3) Small Crystals 4) Hardness5) Sediments in rocks.

Hypotheses: When I was looking on the rocks, I was curious if weathering would take place because the rocks where broken in half. I ask the professor if I was correct and turned out I was right. It was weathering!

This is an rock formation of WEATHERING because it means temperate change & that’s how it formed.

This rock demonstrates and shows that this rock was a FAULT in the ground.

Essential Question: Where did the rocks in your neighborhood come from? • Observations: 1.The moss on the rocks changed the texture of the

rock. 2.The divisions in the rock changes color. 3. The moss was only on one of the rock. 4. A stream of run-off makes the rock darker. 5. Each layer was a different color.

• Hypotheses: 1. The rocks must have layers because over the years, dirt and minerals covered the rock then hardened and had its own color. 2. The rock layers change based on climates.

Observation: The rock s are indented, silver color changes in certain areas, crater cut-outs in rocks, metamorphic rocks, different color striations, and growing plants in between cracks.

Hypotheses: Plants are widening the cracks every time they grow ,and do to weather changes all year long, the rocks over time begin to chip- off and erode.
