“Generations of Love” Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of
Humane Vitae (1968-2018) The Lord Jesus revealed Himself as the Good Shepherd, who would fulfill the will of His Heavenly Father completely by laying down His life for us. He healed and forgave; He challenged and turned conventional thinking upside down with the wisdom of His parables; He sought the lost and gathered the flock back together. And he taught.
Today St. Mark recounts the occasion when Jesus and the apostles had sought out a quiet place to rest but found that people were so irresistibly drawn to Jesus that they could not help but seek Him out. St. Mark pens a beautiful phrase that reveals another aspect of Jesus’ mission: “When… he saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.”
Humanae vitae remains to this day the prophetic words of a shepherd. In a world that can easily abide on the surface of things, Blessed Paul VI teaches us to look deeply into human life, our origin, our fulfilment, and our destiny. In a world that prizes expediency and consumerism (what Pope Francis calls our “throw-away culture”) Blessed Paul VI challenges us to cherish the gift of human life. In a world whose religion is science and that gives blind adherence to the principle that “what is possible is therefore good,” Blessed Paul VI reminds us that at the core of a truly fulfilled human life is the act of opening our minds and hearts to the wisdom of God, who created the world and all that is in it, and who knows and loves us more than we can fathom. In a culture where the human body and human life itself are exploited for entertainment and shameful profit, Blessed Paul VI begs us not to forget that the human body has beautiful, God-given worth and wisdom all its own...
Humanae vitae speaks to the deepest hungers of the human heart. The crowds who flocked determinedly and irresistibly around the lake to listen to Jesus were treated to lessons of life, of love, and of fulfillment in this world and the next. The Church gratefully celebrates this 50thanniversary of Humanae vitae and invites us to see through the powerful prejudices of our culture to the ageless wisdom of Jesus, His Father’s gift of married love, and the fullness of life He offers to all. This timeless encyclical speaks to us ever more poignantly as time goes by, for it is God Himself shepherding us, His beloved flock

Humanae Vitae (1968-2018) El Señor Jesús se reveló a Si mismo como el Buen Pastor, que cumpliría la voluntad de Su Padre Celestial completamente dando Su vida por nosotros. Él sanó y perdonó; Él desafió y cambio el pensamiento convencional con la sabiduría de sus parábolas; Él encontró a las ovejas perdidas y reunió al rebaño de Nuevo. Y él enseñó.
El envagelio de San Marcos cuenta la ocasión cuando Jesús y los apóstoles buscaron un lugar tranquilo para descansar, pero descubrió que las personas se sentían tan irresistiblemente atrídas hacia Jesús que no podían evitar buscarlo. En un mundo que premia la conveniencia y el consumismo (lo que el Papa Francisco llama nuestra “cultura desechable”) el Beato Pablo VI nos reta a apreciar el regalo de la vida humana. En un mundo donde la religión es la ciencia y que da una adhesíon ciega al principio de que “los que es possible es, por lo tanto, es bueno”, el Beato Pablo VI nos recuerda que en el centro de una vida humana realmente realizada es el acto de abrir nuestras mentes y corazones a la sabiduría de Dios, quien creó el mundo y todo lo que hay en él, y quién nos conoce y ama más de los que podemos imaginarnos. En una cultura donde el cuerpo humano y la vida humana en sí son explotados para el entretenimiento e indecente beneficio, el Beato Pablo VI nos ruega que no olvidemos que el cuerpo humano tiene un valor precioso y sabiduría propia otorgada por Dios.
Humanae vitae habla a los más profundos deseos del corazón humano. Las multitudes que se reunieron con determinacíon e irresistiblemente alrededor del lago para escuchar a Jesús recibieron lecciones de vida, de amor y de esperanza en este mundo y el proximo. La Iglesia celebra con gratitud el 50̊ aniversario de Humanae vitae y nos invita a ver a través de los poderosos prejuicios de nuestra cultura la sabiduría eterna de Jesús, el regalo de su Padre del amor matrimonial, y la plenitude la vida que Él nos ofrece a todos. 4. If your child is going into 7th or 8th grade or is a school-aged child in need of the sacrament of baptism, we urge you to register this summer. Don't put off sacramental preparation for this important group of children.
5. Our religious education office will re-open Wednesday, August 1st.

REGISTRATION FORMS FOR FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION ARE BULLDOG-CLIPPED TO THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE DOOR AND ARE ONLINE AT OUR WEBSITE, sacredheratventura.org under faith formation -- religious education. INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING ARE ON THE BACK OF THE FORM. WE ASK THAT FORMS BE TURNED IN BY AUGUST 26TH.

I was recently talking with a friend of mine who was about to be hired as a youth minister somewhere and we were talking about the ins and outs of ministry. My friend is very nervous to be on their own as a Youth Minister and really didn’t know where to start. After a ton of questions from my friend I told them that ministry came down to 3 simple things. 1.) Listen during prayer. There are so many times that the Holy Spirit is guiding us towards something and we tend to think we know better but we don’t. Its not what we want to teach its what the teens need to hear. 2.) Practice what you preach. You cant expect teens to have a relationship with God when you barely have one yourself. You cant expect them to pray the rosary if you don’t. You need to be in the right place so that you can guide teens towards God. 3.) If you truly believe in something, follow through with it. I cant tell you how many times I have mentioned about topics I want to do and people have discouraged me from them. Most of the times those topics tend to be the ones that the teens remember the most and liked the most. We cant be afraid to be real with our when it comes to faith and life. We are not perfect and neither are they. There are topics that can be uncomfortable but necessary. I love ministry so much! It is something that never gets old and always has something new. I always tell the teens what you see is what you get with me. I am not perfect, but I strive for it. When I fail, I start over not give up. But mostly importantly, I am who God made me to be and everyday I strive to know God, to Love God, and to Serve God. Upcoming Events: July 25-Youth Group

Scrip Office Summer Hours The scrip office is closed for summer break, reopening Monday July 30th at 9am-3pm.
Proforma Uniform will also be on campus July 30th. Please check the school calendar to confirm their on campus hours. Dennis Uniform will not be on campus, but is featuring a special on-line shopping day, Monday July 30th, saving 15% on all on-line purchases with free shipping. Dennis Uniform scrip may be used on-line, with no limit as to the number of certificates used. Dennis Scrip and other scrip may be purchased on campus Monday, July 30th from 9am- 3pm.
