Our Business is changing fast and as the “ commoditization” of Logistics happens , those who are technologically ahead of the game will only survive. We all are interdependent and customer to each other.

Technologies such as artificial intelligence, internet of things and block chain are changing the business landscape for the Shipping and Logistics (S&L) industry.
Elastic logistics, the ability to expand and shrink capabilities in response to market fluctuations, will be the new way forward for S&L companies.
‘Perfect order’ deliveries and other disruptions will continue to push S&L companies to become more digitally fit.
1. Safety & Efficiency Leveraging New Technologies
Artificial Intelligence is the logistics industry's ticket to a fully digitized, data-driven future. While AI-enabled self-driving trucks and automated ports are already a reality, the Internet of Things (IOT) can bring in additional value. Data from connected smart devices in the supply chain network can be analysed by Machine- Learning (ML) algorithms for innumerable benefits — from preventive maintenance and repair to improved efficiency and cost compression.
For example:- Maersk Line, a leading global container shipping company, has partnered with Ericson to enable Remote Container Management (RCM).
INDUSTRY TRENDS
TOP THREE TRENDS IN SHIPPING & LOGISTICS
Maersk's 300,000 IOT-enabled refrigerators transmit vital stats such as temperature, location and power supply in real time to a cloud server, where this information is analyzed by ML algorithms.
This has helped Maersk ensure port safety, efficiency, operational savings, and improved cargo care for the fresh produce that it delivers to 343 ports across 121 countries.
2. Intercepting Losses through Blockchain
Blockchain technology has the potential to offer unprecedented levels of operational transparency and traceability to logistics companies. Currently, cargo theft is a major concern for the S&L industry. In 2017 alone, the industry lost over USD 39 Million due to cargo theft. Blockchain-enabled robust and secure business networks can prove to be gamechangers in curbing cargo theft by optimizing cross-border transactions and trading relationships at scale. For instance, customer identities on blockchain ledgers cannot be tampered with at the time of delivery. Blockchain can also enable foolproof deliveries and returns by mapping the unique blockchain registration numbers of every vehicle against the delivery job IDs.
Logistics players such as UPS are betting
on blockchain as the future of logistics. The company recently joined Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BITA), a global standards organization aimed at devising innovative ways and regulating the use of Blockchain in logistics.
3. Emergence of Elastic Logistics
Elastic logistics is the ability of S&L providers to expand and shrink their capabilities across geographies in response to market and demand fluctuations, changing consumer preferences, and socio-political changes. Companies such as DHL and FedEx are already partnering with local players and national postal services to address last-mile delivery issues.
Elastic logistics is about extending this collaboration to sharing fleets, warehouses and networks to handle more distribution channels, priority deliveries and penetrate newer markets. Elastic logistics can help companies in getting real-time 360-degree visibility, connecting processes, improving resource utilization and compressing operational costs.
Global logistics leader DB Schenker has recently forayed into the elastic logistics space by partnering with online freight exchange provider U-Ship to map truck drivers and shipments more efficiently.

HEALTH
Yoga is often partially understood as being limited to asanas or poses, and its benefits are only perceived to be at the physical level. However, we fail to realize the immense benefits yoga offers in uniting the body, mind, and breath. When you are in harmony, the journey through life is calmer, happier and more fulfilling. So, if you are keen to lose weight, develop a strong and flexible body or being at peace, then yoga can help you achieve it all.
Yoga for all-around fitness
As Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar puts it, “Health is not a mere absence of disease. It is a dynamic expression of life – in terms of how joyful, loving, and enthusiastic you are.” Yoga poses, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation are a holistic fitness package. The benefits accrued by being a regular practitioner are numerous. Some very discernible ones are:
·Improves health
·Gives mental strength
·Improves physical strength
·Protects from injury
·Detoxifies the body
Yoga for weight loss
Sun Salutation and Kapal Bhati pranayama are highly useful for losing weight. Moreover, with regular practice of yoga, we tend to become more sensitive to our body and its needs. This, in turn, helps
TOP TEN BENEFITS OF YOGA
keep a check on our food intake and body weight.
Yoga for stress relief
A few minutes of yoga daily can be a great way to get rid of stress, both in body and mind. Yoga postures, pranayama, and meditation are effective techniques to release stress.
Yoga for inner peace
We all love to visit peaceful, serene spots that are rich in natural beauty. Little do we realize that peace can be found right within us and we can take a mini vacation to experience this any time of the day. Yoga is also one of the best ways to calm a disturbed mind.
Yoga to improve immunity
Our system is a seamless blend of the body, mind, and spirit. An irregularity in the body affects the mind and similarly, unpleasantness or restlessness in the mind can manifest as an ailment in the body. Yoga poses help massage organs and strengthens muscles while breathing techniques and meditation release stress and improve immunity.
Yoga to live with greater awareness
The mind is constantly involved in an activity – swinging from the past to the future – but never staying in present. By simply being aware of mind’s tendency, we can save ourselves from getting stressed or worked up. Yoga and pranayama help create that awareness and bring the mind back to the present moment, where it can stay happy and focused.
Yoga for better relationships
Yoga can even help improve your relationship with your loved ones. A mind that is relaxed, happy and content
is better able to deal with sensitive relationship matters. Yoga and meditation aids in keeping the mind happy and peaceful. Gradually, you will also notice an improvement in your relations with those around you.
Yoga to increase energy
Do you feel completely drained by the end of the day? Shuttling through chores and multitasking continuously can be quite exhausting. A few minutes of yoga every day boosts our energy level and keeps us fresh. A 10-minute online guided meditation in the middle of a hectic day is all you need to charge up your batteries.
Yoga for better flexibility and posture
Yoga must become a part of your daily routine to get a body that is strong, supple, and flexible. Regular yoga practice stretches and tones the body muscles and also makes them strong. It also helps improve your body posture when you stand, sit, sleep or walk. This would, in turn, help relieve you of body ache due to incorrect posture.
Yoga to improve intuition
Yoga and meditation have the power to improve your intuitive ability so that you spontaneously realize what needs to be done, when and how, to yield positive results. Since Yoga is a continuous process, it is recommended to keep practicing. The deeper you go into yoga practice, the more profound its benefits will be.
Practicing Yoga helps develop the body and mind, yet is not a substitute for medicine. It is essential to learn and practice yoga under the supervision of a trained Yoga teacher. In case of any medical condition, practice yoga only after consulting your doctor.
