The inaugural 2013 Technology and Marketing Summit took place on June 27 at Turner Network Sales in downtown Atlanta. Thank you to all panelists, sponsors and attendees for making the event a huge success! With over 55 attendees, this year’s summit allowed us to get many different perspectives on where the cable industry is headed. In four hours, we heard from industry leaders like Gene Shatlock, Dan Murphy, Mark Adams, Kerry McKelvey and many more. Attendees learned more about fu-ture goals of the industry and how they plan on getting there. A few exciting things that were brought up during our time together were continuing increases in internet speeds, the launch of more Wi-Fi hot spots, and Comcast’s X1 and X2 platforms.

These initiatives by MSOs are actively changing the way consumers can view their favorite shows and movies, while increasing the speed and availability of informa-tion and entertainment. The cable industry is serious about innovation and investment as it adapts and evolves with consumers to provide them with the latest in technology and entertain-ment and making it available to everyone, everywhere and at any time. We certainly have a lot to look forward to as more of these future innovations come to fruition. Once again, thank you to all who attended and made the event a success. We look forward to seeing you again on November 7, 2013 for the 2nd Annual Marketing Summit!

GCA represents the cable industry to policymakers at the state and federal level. We also serve as a resource for cable companies and their employees. GCA’s Associate Member Program (AMP) was revamped in the beginning of 2012.

When the CTAM SE chapter disbanded, we joined forces with the CTAM board to create the new and improved Associate Member Program for the association.

Our goal is to serve as an education and networking platform that encourages the develop-ment of relationships between operators, programmers and vendors. We want to help make you successful. As quickly as things have been changing lately, it’s more important than ever to have a source that is in contact with the MSOs on a daily basis like we are.

Verimatrix is a major supplier for IPTV and the migration from QAM to IP as it relates to DRM, CA and OTT multi device video security. We are positioned to support the cable MSO industry

as they evolve to an all IP network architecture.
