THE OPTIMIST CLUB OF PERDIDO BAY
The Mullet Are Coming! The Mullet Are Coming!Well, not quite yet. They are still swimming free awaiting their turn to grace ourdinner table on Labor Day at the Optimist Clubs 26th annual Mullet Festival. The
Mullet Festival is our most financially rewarding fund raiser in our efforts to help "ourkids" and requires the most support from our members to make it happen.
President Bill has tabulated approximately 250 individual tasks required to make theMullet Festival a success. With approximately 130 members, many people will beasked to help on two or more functions. It is a fun-filled day for the communitymembers who attend as well as for us.
The race committee is already in full swing as is the T-shirt sponsor committee.Members are selling their raffle tickets. Other committees are in work, but there arestill many openings for help, especially on the day of the Mullet Festival.
One of the successful Mullet Festival events is the "yard sale". Start looking for itemsyou no longer use that are in good and salable condition. President Bill will be having

a full briefing with sign up sheets at our regular meeting on July 28.
The Illuminating Autism fund raiser was successful. Food sales made a profit thanksto the hard work of Cliff Collier and his crew and a record number of raffle ticketswere sold.
The Fashion Show fund raiser is coming up on 21 July. Ask either Marcia Little,Emma Fell or Margaret Schaff if there is something you can do to help. This is alwaysa fun event.
As hurricane season seems to be on us early this year, be safe.

The Optimist CreedPromise Yourself:
To be so strong that nothing can disturb yourpeace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity toevery person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there issomething in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything andmake your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for thebest, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success ofothers as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and presson to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all timesand give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement ofyourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit thepresence of trouble.
