three.
Throughout
two
millennia
ofChristian
history
it
has
been
symbolicofthatvery
BlessedTrinityofour
title,anduponwhich
our
faith
resides.
Indeed,
in
more
puritanicaltimeswhen
signs
and
symbolism
were
frowned
upon,
thenumberthreewas
secretly
incorporated
intob
uildings,artwork
and
correspondence
bytho
sewhoknewthe
poweroficonography.
And
soit
seems
appropriate
that
at
ourservice
on
the
feastofPen
tecost-
at
which
the
celebrant
and
preacherw
as
the
newly
instituted
Bishop
of
Kensington,
the
Rt

incorporated
the
threefold
celebrations
of
thanksgiving,
baptism
and
confirmation.
All
three
speak
eloquently
to
the
healthofthiswonderful
church,whichisnow
soundinbothstructure
and
spiritual
life.
It
is
a
strange
coincidencethatover
the
pastdecade
as,
undertherectorshipof
Bishop
Michael
Marshall,the
mission
and
ministryofHoly
Trinitygainednewlife,
the
fabric
of
this
venerablebuildingwas
succumbing
to
the
ravagesoftime.Only
theswiftinterventionof
BishopMichaelandFr
Graha
m,
the
church
wardens
and
a
committeeledbyPCC
member
Stephen
Morris
on,ensuredthat
weno
whaveachurch
wecansafelyhandon
tofuturegenerations.
Ofcourse,noneofthe
repair
workwouldhave
been
possiblewithout
our
ever-generous
patron

Sunday
Lord
Cadogan
was
presented
with
a
paintin
g
by
Antonia
Rolls,
showingtheEarl
andC
ountessonthe
chancelsteps
along
with
Christ
who

the

Thethemes
ofHoly
Trinity's
fabric
and
Christian
life
were
neatlydrawntogether
in
Bishop
Paul's
sermon,inw
hichhe
spoke
ofthe
light
floodingthroughour
newly
cleaned
windows,as
amirror
ofthe
light
ofthe
Holy
Spirit
flooding
intothosewhowere
to
be
baptiz
ed
and
confirm
ed.

origins

Jewishritualandwas

Baptisttosymbolically
baptize
Jews
for
repentanceintheRiver
Jordan.Christallowed
himselftobebaptized
byJohnastheideal
exampleforeveryone
and
by
so
doing
purifiedthewatersof
baptism.
St
Paul
speaksofbaptism
as
cleansing
ofsin
and
incorporatingoneinto
the
body
of
Christ,
makin
g
one
'drinkof
theSp
irit'(1Cor.12:13).
Follow
ingthebaptism,
theB
ishopmovedto
the
Sacrament
of
Confirmation,
which
involvesthelayingon
ofhan
dsandanointing
with
Chrism
oil.

piritandperfects
ones
bondswiththe
Churc
h.IntheActsof

great
party
on
Tuesday
evening,2ndofJune.
Over
200
people
attended.Wineflowed
and
paintings
were
bought.Andat7.30pm
prom
pt,
the
performance
started.
To
a
background
of
paintings
and
sculptures
hung
and
placed
around
the
church,
in
drama,
dance,
music
and
poetry
Holy
Trinitys
celebrated
windows,
gloriously
restored,
werethecentrepiece
andinspirationforthe
week.
We
were
delighted
by
the
responsetothework,

friendships
were

toencourageyoung
up
and
coming
performers
through
recitalopportunities,
onetoonecoaching
andmasterclasses,
cultivating
a
desire
forcontinuedmusical
and
intellectual
growth
throughout
theirlives.Wehave
now
built
strong
bondswiththeRoyal
CollegeofMusic,the
RoyalAcademy
of
Music,theGuildhall
SchoolofMusicand
Drama
and
Trinity
College.
Many
studentshavebeen
invitedtoperform
in
master
classes
as
wellasbeinggiven
the
opportunity
to
attend
all
other
events
free
of
charge.In
previous
years,
many
students
who
have
participated
in
the
festiva
