Note from the Pastor:
I am humiliated, ashamed and
challenged by this passage. I have
lived in the Stoney Pointe subdivision
for over 7 years. There are 246 homes
in that subdivision and I have not
shared my testimony or the gospel
with ANY of them. I am an ordained
minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
and He has entrusted me with the
Gospel to proclaim this Gospel to the
ends of the earth and then the end
shall come (Matthew 24:10). I have
failed miserably!
The Lord God has charged you and
me to proclaim the great things God
has done for us through our testimony
and the Gospel to every person (Mt
28:19; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; John
20:21; Acts 1:8). We are not responsi-
ble for conversions, but we are re-
sponsible to proclaim this message to
all those around us. So let’s together
commit to seeing the glory of Jesus
spread through the Gospel to those in
our spheres of influence. If you missed
the message on Sunday, please listen to
it on our website. You will be
challenged. Then consider taking a
serious step of faith concerning
Christ’s command to us and join us on
Wednesday nights beginning August
31 for prayer and evangelism training
that will include going out and sharing
what great things Jesus has done for us
through the Gospel. Please let me
know if you are interested.
Determined to have a war-time
mentality!
—Tim
“Return to your house and describe what great things
God has done for you.” So he
went away proclaiming throughout the whole city
what great things Jesus had done for him.
—Luke 8:39
Jesus commanded the healed
demoniac to go back to his home and
share with others his personal testi-
mony of how the Lord had healed him.
According to Mark 5:20, this one new
Gentile believer went throughout the
entire 10-city area of Decapolis and
proclaimed what great things Jesus
had done for him; and everyone was
amazed. How much more should we
share the great things Jesus has done
for us through our own testimonies and
the Gospel?!?
MUSIC NOTES:
Thank you to all the dedicated brothers and sisters who participated in the choir for the past 11 months! You are all wonderful singers and friends. I enjoy our hard work and our sweet fellowship. As you know, we will take a break un-til August 17. We will begin choir rehearsals again on Wednesday, August 17. Spread the work among your friends. I hope to see you all and some new
faces, too, after the summer break! —Allen

ALL IN THE FAMILY
The second day of VBS 2011 is in the history book and a good day it was! So far the children have brought in 125 cans of food for We Care and the week has only just begun! If you have a child coming to VBS, or if you come as a worker, don’t forget to bring your cans to add to the boxes. Speaking of food for We Care, did you know that Rae and Don Paczynski take the food you bring in each Sunday
to We Care. Last week they transported 130 pounds that you brought! Isn’t that neat! Now back to VBS – if you have a chance, do come and see it in action. It takes the entire church family in order to make this happen. We simply could not do it without everybody’s support. The youth are a vital part of this pro-gram, and the children probably enjoy them more than anybody! Then there are the senior adults … or the Sassy Sisters … who year after year set up, pass out and clean up the snacks each day. It is indeed a family project and everybody’s help is needed. Your job (and mine) continues to be to pray that many children (and maybe some adults, too) will come to know the Lord Jesus during this very important week. Love, —Helen
Lessons from Church Cat:
Max, my dog, treasures his bone. Not only does he treasure his bone, he guards and
protects his bone from everyone. Many times Max is lying on the floor happily chewing on his bone when CC walks by him oblivious to the danger. This will prompt Max into
action! He puts on his fiercest look and will growl or snap, depending on how grievous the offense by CC. Poor
CC looks at Max with the expression “Silly dog, cats don’t like bones!” And she struts off. CC could care less
about Max’s treasure, but Max doesn’t know that.
Did you know that God treasures His people? In Deuteronomy 7:6 it states “. . .the LORD your God has
chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession . . .” God was speaking to the Israelites in this instance, but it pertains to us, too. All of His chosen people are a treasure to Him. I admit when I look at my
sin-filled life, I don’t feel like anyone’s treasure. But God sees me as His treasure, not for anything I have
done or will do. He sees me as His treasure because He has set His love upon me. He has set His love upon all
of His children. This world we live in could care less about God’s treasure.
Do you treasure God? Do you treasure His Word? Do you treasure His Son? I’ve been thinking a lot lately about treasure, what it is, what it means to be treasured and what my treasures actually are. What are you
treasuring today?
Praying for God to help me treasure Him, —Diana

Children’s Worship Schedule for Teachers/Helpers
9:15 AM Sunday—School Schedule for Teachers/Helpers:
First Touch Ministries:
“But You are near, O LORD, and all Your commands are true.”.”
—Psalm 119:151
Wow, VBS is finally here. We are having a great week with over 120 children, traveling the
High Seas as we learn more about our Bibles and how God speaks to us through His Word. We
are learning verses from Psalm 119, and seeing God do amazing things all around us. Come to
the 6:30 p.m. program on Friday night (July 15) to see all we have learned. And get a free hot dog dinner, too! Plus, we
will have a giant slide outside to celebrate the end of our adventure together. We will also sing some of our favorite
songs Sunday morning at our 10:30 a.m. service.
THANK YOU to all the wonderful adults and teens who have helped to decorate our church, make snacks, sing
songs, create crafts, teach Bible truths, and share the Love of Jesus with our children this week. It is truly amazing
to see the body of Christ come together, all for His Glory!!! POOL PARTY Wednesday morning (July 13) at the
church office for all the young families and their children up to first grade. Meet there at 10:00 a.m. with your float
toys and snacks for your little ones!
And remember to bring a friend to Sunday School, look for me, and get a prize from the Treasure Chest. See you
Sunday! I love you! —Mrs. Jackie
