Ye’rarim) - for the part of the trip nearer to Jerusalem and the desert. The former is a ministry that helps Jews returning to Israel from other nations, that is, making Aliyah. The latter is a large home run by a Messianic Jewish family - not only a place to stay, but also for rest and ministry. It is on the hill where the Ark for the Covenant rested for three months in Obed-edom’s home (2 Sam. 6:11). It is now a friendly Arab village that stands with Israel. We had a lovely Shabbot dinner with the family, a wonderful blessing and refreshing. We saw several archeological sites, some of which have been recently discovered, telling the story of the Jewish people thousands of years ago, and others that brought to life many of “A person whose desire rests on You you preserve in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.” Isa. 26:3 CJB CELEBRATING EARLY… In October I enjoyed an early birthday gift from family and friends who made it possible for me to join a team of 19 visiting Israel. At the beginning of the year, I had felt that the Lord wanted me to get to Israel during 2015, but I found nothing that I felt was for me. Then I heard about a tour that five close ministerial friends were part of in October and as I looked into it, it was what I was looking for. There was still room to join them and for my son-in-law Nate to be included as well. The group consisted mainly of Canadians out of Cariboo One Mile Ranch in British Columbia. On each trip to Israel I see a different aspect of Israel’s life - both in its history and in its present reality. This trip offered a much fuller picture of what the Lord is doing in the lives of the Israelis today and the challenges the believers face, along with the historical sites that show Lord’s working - both in Biblical and more recent events. What was especially outstanding to me this time was the personal contact that we had with the people. It started with our guide, Andrey Gelbet, who had moved to Israel from Russia with his family when he was a young boy. He is a Messianic Jew with wonderful insight into the Word as well as history. He made the places we saw come alive. We had the privilege of attending a united worship service of Arab and Jewish believers held in the woods - a blessing to see the Lord teaching His body to walk together as one! We were also in two different worship services - Mt. Carmel and Revive Israel - both proving to be a spiritual refreshing and blessing. Instead of regular hotels, we stayed in two different ministries - Return Ministry in Tiberius for the Galilean part of the trip and Jerusalem Hills Inn in Abu Gosh (in Bible times known as Kiyriat NOVEMBER 2015 VOLUME 37 ISSUE11 JULIO C. Jesus’ teachings. Two of the girls with us, fairly new believers, were baptised in the Jordan River. It was a privilege to hear their testimonies and share this special time with them.

BACK HOME…. The Lord has worked wonderfully in several new believers in our church. It is a delight to see their hunger for the things of God and desire to grow in Him. Several of those who have been with us for a longer time and are grounded in the Lord are coming into places of leadership, something that is very encouraging. At the same time, we have sensed the increase in spiritual warfare and the need for walking carefully before the Lord to have His wisdom to walk forward in His victory in these difficult situations.

With Nate on the Sea of Galilee

COMING UP… Lord willing, I will be with my daughter, Sarah, in Canada for the birth of their third son in December. With his birth Sarah and Nate will have three boys between the ages of newborn to 3! Quite a handful! It will also be an opportunity to connect again with pastoral friends. Thank you so much for faithfully standing with us in prayer and through you financial gifts. You are such a vital part of all that the Lord is doing here. Every month we see the Lord’s faithfulness through you as you share in the ministry here. May the Lord richly bless you.
