to bedside care, Julie has been an inspiring speaker at national conferences, as well as multi-disciplinary regional seminars. She draws from an extensive background in adult critical care and has been published in professional nursing journals on clinical topics and animal assisted therapy. Julie’s teaching style is humorous and enthusiastic, and her ability to make complex information simple, memorable and fun is what keeps her students returning for more. As president and founder of PAWS to Learn, Julie joins her love for teaching with her passion for animal assisted therapy, as well as her desire to empower those at the bedside to meet the needs of all patients.

Course DescriptionThe purpose of this two day course is to present a comprehensive review of all facets of acute and critical care nursing. It will review anatomy, physiology, assessment/diagnostics, pathophysiology, and treatment options for diseases commonly encountered in the critical care setting. Case studies will be incorporated to bridge theory and practice and the course may be used as a CCRN/PCCN preparatory course or as a review for practicing acute & critical care nurses. The program follows AACNs blueprint for the CCRN/PCCN examination.

Contact Hours• Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics will award

14 contact hours for the completion of this course. (7 contact hours per day)

• Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
