I hope everyone is enjoying these warm days and the arrival of fall. I know my gardens require more attention at this time of year, and as I prepare the plants for the anticipated frost, I know we will soon be facing winter precipitation. Until then, I hope to enjoy some of our beautiful fall foliage. I do look forward to putting the lawn mower away. It seems since we never had the summer dry spell, it received more exercise than normal this year. Over the last couple of weeks, I have spoken with many residents. I appreciate hearing your concerns. As town manager, I always want to know what we do well and what we can do better. Feedback is a gift and does has value. Communication is a valuable tool in municipal government and exactly why I appreciate the opportunity to reach you with the China Connected. Ahead of the November 2 nd election, please take the time understand the broadband question on municipal ballot. Though the question is complex and full of required language, the “yes” and “no” answers mean what they say. A “yes” vote would mean you support moving forward with broadband and the projected costs and a “no” vote means you do not support moving forward with the broadband project. There will be a public hearing on the municipal ballot on Monday, September 27 at 6:15 p.m. Please join in person, via zoom or watch on Livestream. Cub Scout Pack 479 will be meeting every week on Mondays from 6-7pm at Central Church on Route 3

(holidays and school vacation days excluded). Meetings will either be outside, weather permitting and

dependent on activities, or inside in the 2nd floor meeting room. Our meetings will focus on Webelos Scout

activities (for 4th and 5th graders) and Tiger Scout activities (for 1st graders). We welcome potential Cub

Scouts from kindergarten through 5th grade (or up to age 11). However, as we currently do not have dens

for Lions, Wolves, or Bears (kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade respectively), we will need assistance

(adult volunteers) to form those dens within the pack. For more information, join us on Facebook

at https://www.facebook.com/groups/scouts479 or email [email protected] to get on the email list. We

ask all Scouts and adults participating to mask and social distance, following the same guidelines as the
