George Clooney narrates this breathtaking special which celebrates the natural beauty of the United States' National Parks. A montage of stirring imagery such as aerial footage from Acadia, Great Smokey Mountain, Grand Canyon, Mount Rainier and Yosemite are combined with a lush instrumental score performed by composer Tim Janis and his 14-piece concert ensemble.

For more than 200 years, the United States Constitution, a document dictating a representative government by the people and for the people has served as the foundation for the country and its citizens. Explore the development and structure of the Constitution, its various interpretations and the debate surrounding its possible reformation. Also addressed are some of the compromises and problematic aspects of the Consti-tution, including its stance on equal opportunity for women and civil rights for racial and ethnic minorities.

Every year on the 4th of July the USA celebrates Indepen-dence Day. Communities from coast to coast commem-orate the day in 1776 when the Continental Congress proclaimed America's freedom from British rule. Join Burt Wolf for a fascinating trip to Boston where the American Revolution began, witness the spot where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the citizens of Boston, discover why the town of Gloucester thinks its parade is horrible, and enjoy one of the best firework shows in the world.

Tim Janis: Beautiful America

Questioning the Constitution

Burt Wolf: Taste of Freedom

The Yugoslavian-born virtuoso artist performs alongside the highly acclaimed West Point Band and West Point Cadet Glee Club. Filmed at West Point's historic Eisen-hower Hall, celebrate the strength of America's unique cultural, racial and religious diversity with performances that include stirring arrangements of well-known patriotic melodies "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and "America the Beautiful" in addition to dramatic orches-trations of Marina's original compositions.

The American Civil War was the most cataclysmic event in American history—600,000 deaths, ruined cities, scorched countryside, and social revolution. Explore the ways in which the echoes of the Civil War can still be felt in American society: from politics to economics, from civil rights to foreign policy, from individual to collective memory, from South to North to West. Discover the nature of History in our national and personal lives—the past as prologue.

Long Shadows: The Legacy of the American Civil War

Medical Marijuana laws have been the subject of intense controversy and criticism. While the media has covered the social issues well, there has been little discussion about the science. Discover how cannabis acts on the brain and in the body to treat nausea, pain, epilepsy and potentially even cancer. Extensive interviews with patients, doctors, researchers and skeptics detail the promises and the limitations of medicinal cannabis. Also detailed is the government restrictions and financial difficulties of doing research on the plant.

Follow the story of seven communities around the country that realized that their minority and low-income children were falling significantly behind their white and affluent counterparts in school. Community members began to think about what they could do on their own, as a community, without waiting for a state or federal agency to provide funding to close the gap. Follow the amazing transformation that can be made when commu-nities decide to be the change they've been waiting for.

Combining the expertise and engaging styles of veteran television host and nationally recognized authority on gardening and sustainability, Joe Lamp'l (a.k.a. joe gardener), with the "Most Watched Gardening Person-ality on the Web," Garden Girl Patti Moreno, each episode contains one compelling feature story and one how-to segment for growing your own food, followed by a segment with chef Nathan Lyon (A Lyon in the Kitchen) who uses fresh-from-the-garden fruit, vegetables or herbs to create simple and delicious dishes.
