HEDGE APPLE (Osage Orange)http://mullinslogcabin.net/hedgeapples__cancer How to prepare the hedgeapples for use I get so many phone calls and emails from folks asking me how to prepare hedgeapples to eat,or how to preserve them. So this is what i do.First of all, wrap the hedgeapple in freezer paper, or newspaper, put in freezer, and freezesolid. Get your slaw grater, just like you are going to make coleslaw. Grate off the amount you want toeat. This makes it real mushy and you don't even have to chew it. Next i drink a glass of water,and wash my hands. The white sap can burn your eyes if you should put your fingers near youreyes. Most people that i have talked to are eating a tablespoon twice a day. There is no certainamount, or magic portion that you take. It's up to the individual. Some people just eat ateaspoon, others a tablespoon, and others even several whole hedgeapples in a few weekstime. The only side effect that i have heard of, some people get loose bowel movements. I'mnot a doctor, but my theory is, that's just your body getting rid of the toxins. I personally don'tthink it has a bad taste at all. To me, it tastes a little like cucumbers. However, some peopledon't like the taste. If you are one of those people, then mix it with something you do like, forinstance cottage cheese or applesauce. There isno guarantee that hedgeapples work foreveryone, but for the majority of people it does work, and they are telling me that they can see areduction of tumors within a month. Again, everyone is different. There are many things aperson can do to slow down the growth of cancer. Some people go on an all alkaline diet,others drink baking soda water, and still others drink food grade peroxide. He was diagnosedwith amalignant tumor on his left lung. He went through a series of Chemo & also radiation totry to shrink the tumor. Those treatments made him feel quite ill, but did little to shrink it. Xrays 2 or 3 months after the treatment showed no change. While trying to find some other form of treatment, his family researched the Hedge Apple thruGoogle, & in the process found your web site. They figured it was worth a try. They were ableto drive out to the countryside & find the Hedge Apples on a farm & brought some back. Theykeep them frozen & grate doses off them. He takes 1 tblsp. (mixed in juice or water) 2 times aday, once in the morning & once at night. After 3 months of use, (unknown to the Dr.) the Dr. wanted him back in for a progress Xrayto see if the tumor was growing since the Chemo & Radiation. The Xray showed NO Tumor,nothing visible. I received a phone call today from a lady in Menifee County, KY. A few weeks ago a lady from Shelbyville , Kentuckycalled me. She was desperate after learningshe had cancer in her kidney. She previously lost her other kidney. You might have read a few years ago, I gave a little English Bulldog fresh hedgeapplesbecause he had a tumor on his side. Vet wanted to put him down because he thought he hadsome sort of nerve damage, causing him to be paralyzed in his hind legs. Well now, I haveanother animal story.
A lady called me several weeks ago saying her horse had growths on it's body causing it to loseuseage of it's legs. She had already made an appointment to have her horse put down, butlearned about the hedgeapple in the meantime. I told her a place where she could find freshhedgeapples. She contacted the gentleman, and began giving her horse an entire hedgeappledaily. In just a week, the tumors were getting smaller, and the horse could walk better. I haven'theard lately, but hopefully by now the horse is back to normal. I didn't get her number, so if sheshould read this, please call me and give me a report on your horse.
Here's a word of caution: If you are giving an entire hedgeapple to your large animal. Cut it upin small pieces. Hedgeapples have been known to kill a horse or cow, simply because it getscaught in their throat and they suffocate. Animals know that the hedgeapple is good for them,otherwise they wouldn't try to eat them. Deer and squirrels also eat them.
Rubber tree: This plant is in the same family (mulberry) as the ficus. It's actually called FicusElastica. This plant is very popular with allergy sufferers because it's said to remove dust fromthe home by collecting it on its leaves. This plant's close relative, the Brazilian Rubber Tree, isone of the more common sources of latex in manufacturing. Its sap, which hardens whendrying, produces the rubbery substance that is processed to form gloves, balloons, condoms,etc. If you are allergic to latex, this plant is definitely a nono in your home.
(While surfing the web, I came across the above information, and had to list it here. TheMulberry, Fig, and Hedgeapple are all in the same family, and as it states, so is the RubberTree. So, if you are a person who has an allergy to latex, it would be best not to use thehedgeapple.

In early 2007 I had aroutine CBC and I was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). I refused thetraditional treatment of Chemotherapy and soon after started with some experimentalmedication. I had no real symptoms except for being tired. My CLL was Stage 0 which meantthat my luekemia was indolent or slow growing. In mid 2008appeared to be in Stage 1 as mylymph nodes were larger than normal. I also started having severe pain in my head and a tumorwas found. I was to have a biopsy but around that time my best friend, a gentleman who knows"Mr. Hedge" personally started telling me about the hedgeapple. He brought me a coupleapproximately 4 months ago and I started eating about a teaspoon each day. Along with hishedgeapples and many prayers I am now having near perfect blood tests and a recent bonemarrow aspiration shows littlesign of the CLL. After 3 CT Scans it appears that the tumor ismuch smaller. I would love to give you more detailed information if you like, but this is thesynopsis of my story. Abstract
Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in melanin biosynthesis. Activators of tyrosinase withstimulatory effects on melanogenesis are beneficial for the treatment ofhypopigmentation diseases. In the present study, mushroom tyrosinase activity assay wasperformed to screen tyrosinase activators from traditional Chinese herbs. Fourcomponents from Radix Polygoni multiflori were tested. The most active compound,
2,3,5,4 tetrahydroxystilbene2O dglucoside (THSG), was found to be asignificant tyrosinase activator. The maximal activation was 126% at a concentration of75.0 g/mL. The three anthraquinones slightly activated tyrosinase with effects in therange 731%. All the compounds were tested in B16 melanoma cells, the anthraquinoneswere found to inhibit cell proliferation at a concentration of 0.12.5 g/mL, and THSG wasfound to be noncytotoxic at a concentration of 0.112.5 g/mL. THSG significantlyincreased the activity of murine tyrosinase and stimulated melanin biosynthesis inB16 melanoma cells. Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera)

Osage Orange has traditionally been used as a treatment for cancer by Native American andfolk herbalists. It is a botanical medicine encompassing unique constituents that exhibitsanti-cancer activity with promising potential. A new class of lectins has been isolated fromOsage Orange- prenylated isoflavones. The prenylated isoflavones are pomiferin and osajin.
Osage Orange has a strong resonance with the Doctrine of Signatures. Osage Orange has beenrecognized due to its shape which resembles a large tumor or fibroid. Its orange-red coloredbark is associated with the color of blood, therefore it has been used traditionally in bloodcleansing and blood movement. Utilitarian uses include the making of traditional bows. It issometimes referred to by one of it's common names, Bow D'arc, which means wood of thebow. It is considered one of the best bow woods and is ranked among the Yew and the PauD'arco, which are two of the top woods used in the construction of bows as well as anti-cancer botanicals. Maclura pomifera agglutinin (MPA) is a lectin/mitogen compound.Macluralisin is a serin proteinase.Pomiferin is a prenylated isoflavone, which acts as an antioxidant by inhibitingcytochrome P-450 enzymes, and inhibits LDL oxidation, a key process that is currentlybelieved to play a central role in arteriosclerosis.Osajin is also a prenylated isoflavone.Phytoestrogen used in cancer and cardiovascular disease treatment.Tetraphydroxystilbene is an anti-fungal agent.
Maclura pomifera agglutinin (MPA)
Highly specific for the tumor antigen Gal b1, 3 Gal Nac, a cell marker on some tumors.This is a core structure of the O-linked type of glycopeptide.Has been used in immunology as erythroagglutinin, as markers in cell differentiation,in cancer biology as labels of carcinoma cells, in glycoprotein purification, and asprobes in developmental biology.It has shown to be detrimental to growth of larvae and to block HIV infection.sequence of MPA, specifically for CHO and its lack of metal ions and disulfide bonds,all indicate it to be a member of a new lectin family.It has a high affinity and specificity to bind tumor antigens on the surface of carcinomacells from which 85% of cancer develops.
The Role of Lectins in Disease Treatment
From the Latin word legere, the word lectin means "to bind" or "to pick and choose".Lectins are non-immunologic protein-polysaccharide molecules having a strong bindingaffinity for the complex carbohydrates, which are abundant on cell surfaces.Forming an irreversible covalent bond, lectins bind in a manner similar to antibodies.Galactose/ N-acetylgalactose-amine (Gal/GalNAc) lectin on the macrophage surface isinvolved with the uptake and recognition of tumor cells.
Concentrations of lectin needed to produce a therapeutic effect are on the order ofmicrogram doses.
Dosage
