Entry Information Two options to enter:

1.) Mailed entry- only checks or money orders payable to ODS are accepted. For security, NO CREDIT CARDS accepted for mailed entries. Mailed entry must be postmarked by the closing date.

2.) Online entry- credit cards are only method of payment. A 3.5% convenience fee will be added to total your fees. Visa, Master Card, and Discover only (no American Express) www.showsecretary.com

E-mailed entries will NOT be accepted.

Checks will be deposited upon receipt. Dishonored checks or declined credit cards will require complete repayment prior to

the show plus a service charge of $50. All outstanding fees must be paid before show packets are issued.

Reminder: This Prize list covers two shows. You must fill out a separate entry form for each show. Please make a single

check payable to “ODS” and ensure that it includes ALL fees for ALL shows.

Mailed entry must be postmarked by the closing date. Online entry must be complete by closing date.

All entries must include:

1) Appropriate fees. Horse is not officially entered until payment and completed entry are received. 2) A copy of USEF & USDF cards for rider and owner. Trainer needs USEF card, owner may be USDF business member. If

adult amateur, rider USEF card must state Amateur. 3) A legible copy of negative Coggins (issued to show name of the horse) dated within 12 months of last day of show date and

current vaccination record. 4) Stabling requests - note names not a stable 5) All signatures (yes, on all lines!) Note: For entry purposes, “trainer” is defined as the adult on show grounds responsible

for horse. All signatures must be by an adult/parent/legal guardian. Parent/legal guardian is exempt from USEF

nonmember fees. 6) All entries must include a copy of the Ohio Liability Release and Acknowledgement (page 20) 7) No entry will be processed without full payment.

Membership/Non Member/Proof of Membership fees: All participants (rider, owner, trainer, agent, lessee, or coach) must

present to the competition secretary a current USEF membership card or copy thereof. In the event the participant does

not have his/her card or copy, he/she must pay a $45 USEF show pass fee per show. All Riders and Owners must present

a current membership card or pay the USDF non-member fee of $35 per show. Those who cannot provide proof of their

USDF membership may fill out an affidavit form and must pay the $5 fee. The affidavit may also be used to verify horse

registration and/or horse ownership. The affidavit form may be found on www.USDF.org.

Great American/USDF Qualifying Classes: For the Great American/USDF Qualifying rides, riders must have an active USEF

Membership and a USDF Participating Membership. Effective for the 2018 Regional Championships, owners must have

a USDF Participating or Business Membership and a USEF membership (Junior Active, Senior Active, Life, or Recorded

Farm (with Active Farm Owner)). If the horse has more than one owner, at least one owner must have both active USEF

membership and active USDF Participating or Business Membership. For a business or farm to be the valid owner under

this requirement, it must be listed as an owner of the horse with both USEF and USDF. Horses must be Annual or Lifetime

Recorded with USEF and USDF Lifetime Registered, an HID is not sufficient. Great American qualifying entries must

include horse USEF and USDF registration and rider’s and owner’s USEF and USDF card(s).

Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted if schedule permits. Late entries must include all fees, negative Coggins, proof of

USEF membership (or pay nonmember fee) and must be completed by noon the day before start of class. The fee to enter

late is the normal entry fees plus the late fee of $35. Late Entries, if accepted, will not be included in the program.

Refunds: Prior to closing date, full refund less office fee and online convenience fee. After closing, USEF & USDF Qualifying fees only refunded. No refunds for filled scratches but waiting list entries not accepted will receive a full refund. Waiting list exhibitors that are contacted for an opening and accepted are fully responsible financially to the show. Exhibitor withdrawals due to weather conditions; no refund. If classes cancelled due to act of God; no refund. Refunds of $10 or less will be donated to Dressage Foundation.

Once you are at the show, please notify the show office if you are scratching a class. A no show is defined as a scratch for the entire show.

Please do not be a ‘NO SHOW’.

General Information

Non-competing Horses: Non-competing horses are welcome on a space-available basis. They must have an entry

form with all release signatures, a current Coggins, and pay non-compete fee and office fee per show, and a stall fee.

Noncompeting horses must wear a bridle number when out of the stall.

The organizing committee reserves the right to limit entries, to add or divide classes, to add or substitute judges,

and to make any changes required by the circumstances. Entries are limited. Send your entries early to ensure

getting into the shows.

Ride Times: Stabling assignments and provisional times will be available to competitors at

www.showsecretary.com Official times will be available at noon the day before the show.

Scratches: If you scratch from a class the ride time will be filled from a waiting list.

Schedule: Classes may not necessarily be run in the order listed in the class lists. It is the responsibility of the rider

to inform the show secretary of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the schedule. Management

reserves the right to change officials, limit entries, combine or cancel classes, modify the schedule, and to modify or

cancel awards and/or make whatever changes are required by circumstances to the competition specifications

listed herein. Show Management reserves the right to cancel classes insufficiently filled and to refuse or require

withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by Show Management.

The show office and stabling will open at 10 a.m. on Friday until 7 p.m., May 18th. Schooling will begin Friday, May 18th at noon. All competitors must have their bridle number before riding. The show office will be open one hour before the first ride until one hour after the last ride.

Schooling on Friday is allowed in competitor rings until 7:30pm. After the completion of the last ride of

the day, schooling in the competition rings is permitted until 7:30pm.

Hand-walking of unmounted horses is allowed around the exterior of the competition rings from sunrise until 30 minutes before the first ride. No mounted horses allowed.

Class Explanations: JR/YR - Open to Juniors and Young Riders only; any rider is eligible until the end of the

calendar year in which they reach the age of 21. Only Juniors ages 14-18 may enter FEI Junior Tests. Only Young

Riders ages 16-21 may enter FEI Young Rider Tests. FEI Pony Riders ages 12-16 may enter FEI Pony Tests. FEI Children Riders ages 12-14 may enter FEI Children Tests. AA - Open to Adult Amateurs only; competitors must

compete as adults from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22. Must hold current

USEF Amateur card.

Opportunity classes are intended for entry level riders. Horses and riders entered only in “Opportunity” classes

are exempt from USEF and USDF membership requirements, and do not have to pay non-member (show pass) or

HID fees. Federation and drug fees do not apply. Horses entered only in these classes are still subject to and must

comply with the Drugs and Medication rules and are subject to drug testing. Riders and/or horses entered in

opportunity classes may cross enter in other classes at the show, however, all applicable memberships and USEF

drug fees apply. Participants must abide by all USEF regulations pertaining to attire, tack and equipment for the

recognized show. Reference GR821 for additional information.

Security: Overnight security officer will be on grounds. A mandatory $5 is included in the office fee.

Footing/Arena: Blend of SRS footing outfitted with HITS self-watering system for consistent and concussion minded footing. Lunging is only allowed in designated areas. A 20m by 60m arena will be used for all tests except for Para Equestrian Grade 1V-V freestyles, which will be 20m by 40m.

Bridle numbers must be worn at all times on the show grounds. This includes non-competing horses.

Golf Carts will be available for rent through the show grounds. For information, please inquire to

[email protected]. Outside golf carts permitted. Golf carts are only allowed in designated areas

specified on the map in the program. No Golf Carts allowed in the competition rings and warm-up areas except for

ODS Official Golf Carts. Please stay on cart paths, off the grass, and be mindful of horses. All drivers must be at least

16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Dogs: All dogs must be leashed at all times.

Ohio Health Regulations: For out of state horses, please ensure you have the appropriate documentation for your

horses per the Ohio Department of Agriculture. http://www.agri.ohio.gov

Volunteers: Email to [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering. Breakfast and Lunch

will be provided for volunteers.

Concessions: Concessions will be available on grounds Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast will be available in the

“Cantina” each morning for competitors and their guests until 9:30am provided by the competition.

General Information Continued

Stabling: 250 Permanent 12 x12 Matted Stalls with Sliding wood doors with full wood partitions. All barns have 16’

aisles and 20’ ceilings Bedding is available for purchase from the office -- $8/bag in advance, $9/bag at the show

Groups wishing to stable together must put SAME name on "to be stabled with" line of entry blank.

Any stabling changes must be approved in show office. No feed or hay available on the grounds. NO nails, screw eyes, etc. allowed in or on any stalls.

Stabling will be posted on www.showsecretary.com and in the show office.

Only bagged wood shavings allowed, available for pre-order with stall delivery for $8/bag, $9/bag if ordered at the show. Please order and pay at the show office, pre-orders appreciated.

Trailer-Ins: Haul-ins are welcome for a $50/horse/day, including Friday. Parking for Haul-Ins is located in the hay field to the west of the barn area.

Trailer Parking: Please follow signs and respect restricted parking areas. Please check with Barn Steward for questions related to vehicle parking and trailer parking.

Late Arrivals: Please alert the show office [email protected] prior to the day of arrival if you intend

to arrive after 7 p.m. to make arrangements.

Pony Measurements: Any pony being ridden in a pony restricted class must possess a USEF Dressage Pony

Measurement Card. A pony measurement is required for any horse under 8 years old which does not have a

permanent pony measurement card. Owners must notify management of any ponies needing a measurement for

an appointment to be scheduled with the veterinarian accordingly. The fee charged by the veterinarian will be

prorated among the pony owners. This fee will only be the actual charge by the veterinarian and will not exceed

$100 per pony. Measurement fee will be paid directly to the veterinarian at the time of measurement. Do not

prepay. Pony measurement will take place on Friday afternoon. If another time is required, arrangements must be

made with management, TD, and veterinarian. A reminder of time and place for measurement will be posted in the

show office at 10 a.m. on Friday. Owners must be USEF membership at the time of measurement. Ponies must have a

USEF recording or HID #. Pony must be presented in a halter.

Musical Freestyles: Music for all freestyles on CD in WAV format must be given to the show office upon arrival to

show grounds and check in to show office. Sound check schedule sign-ups will be available in the office at check-in.

Sound checks will be held Friday evening and Saturday mornings prior to the start of the show. Additional sound

checks may be permitted at the discretion of show management, upon request.

Except for USEF/USDF Championship classes and for FEI Pony Riders, FEI Junior, FEI Young Rider and FEI

Para-Equestrian Freestyles, in order to enter a freestyle class at any level, a horse/rider combination must

have received a minimum score of 60% in the highest test of the declared freestyle level or any test of a

higher level at a Federation Licensed or FEI recognized Dressage Competition or “open” Dressage class (i.e.

open to all breeds) at a Federation Licensed Competition held prior to the competition where the

horse/rider combination is entered to ride a freestyle class. A photocopy of the test verifying eligibility, or

copy of the USDF score verification, must be submitted with the entry for a freestyle class. DR129.9

Saturday Freestyles will be scheduled at the end of the day during the competitor party.

Competitors are responsible for picking up their music before the end of the show. Music left will not be mailed.

Awards & Prizes Awards: Ribbons given to sixth place for each division, with additional prizes for first place winners. Only one set

of ribbons will be awarded for those classes with only the Open division. Any rider may enter these classes.

Management reserves the right to combine classes as necessary and make changes as needed. Upon request,

awards and ribbons not picked up at the show will be mailed at the competitors’ expense.

High Score Champion ribbons: High score ribbons each day in the following categories: Intro, Training-First, Second-Fourth, FEI, Opportunity, and Freestyle. Divisions will not be separated for these high score ribbons. FEI Pony, Children, Junior, and Young Rider tests will be awarded at their equivalent national levels.

Additional sponsored High Score awards will be awarded for the weekend for specific classes, please check with the office or in the program for details on these awards.

Materiale, Equitation, Developing Horse & Young Horse classes are not eligible for high score awards.

Prize money will be paid to the rider within 30 days.

Breed awards: Breed awards will be offered for these participating breed organizations: American Hanoverian Society, Arabian and Half Arabian, FHANA, KWPN, Norweigian Fjord, Oldenburg GOV, Oldenburg NA, RPSI, and Westfalen. To be eligible for these awards, copies of your breed paperwork must be included in your entry and it is the COMPETITOR’S job to ensure they have appropriate registration with their breed society. OTHER AWARDS and PROGRAMS

Thoroughbred High Score to be at each show: A high point ribbon and prize will be provided for each High Score for the levels Introductory, Training, 1st, 2nd-4th, and FEI. A high score ribbon and prize will be awarded to the overall high score for each show. Only TBs that have been registered with The Jockey Club or a foreign TB stud book recognized by The Jockey Club are eligible to participate in T.I.P. classes and awards. Riders and owners should obtain a T.I.P number for all horse/rider combinations. T.I.P number applications are done online at www.tjctip.com. T.I.P. numbers must be provided to the horse show with entry. Awards are sponsored by The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program.

Dressage competitors can now earn Incentive Fund dollars, year-end awards and

AQHA points aboard their American Quarter Horse. AQHA will recognize levels of

dressage competition Training Level through FEI. Freestyle is not recognized. Visit

ODS DownCenterline is a National Dressage Pony Cup Partner Show, which means

that anyone entered in any of the pony divisions will have their scores count toward

NDPC Year-end awards. Also, a Champion Ribbon will be mailed to the pony with the

highest score over the two days after NDPC adds points for degree of difficulty based on

the test ridden. You must compete in the pony only divisions to be recognized by

NDPC. See next page for more details.

Camping: Self-contained camping in the trailer parking area (hay field) is allowed in designated areas but no electric, water, or toilet facilities are available. Competitor must REGISTER with the office and camping permit MUST be picked up and displayed in windshield/on trailer to let security know campers are present.

Hospitality

Competitor Breakfast: All competitors and their guests are welcome to join us for breakfast each day. Service starts at 7:30am and includes hot breakfast choices as well as a variety of baked goods and beverages. Competitor Beverages: Compliments of Ohio Dressage Society, waters and other beverages will be available at

the show rings and under the tent throughout the day.

Competitor Party Information: We welcome all competitors and their guests to attend the competitor party on Saturday Evening, May 19th at 5:30pm. This free event will be held in the tent overlooking the Musical Freestyle competition, providing wonderful entertainment for our guests. There will be a variety of heavy hors d'oeuvres, wide array of beverages, and desserts for all guests. No tickets required, registration at the show office at time of check-in with number of guests is requested but not mandatory. This is a wonderful opportunity to come and relax with your fellow competitors and introduce the public to sport of Dressage.

US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION RULES

“EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT

FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.”

Exhibitors should exercise extreme caution before medicating their horses and should be aware of the US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION rules governing drugs and medications. Any questions about the use of certain medications and regarding Rule

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT DR901.9 Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

MOTORIZED VEHICLE RULE- In accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

Sharps Containers: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is competition management’s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. If local law has different requirements, local law will prevail.

ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS DR120.6 From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by

competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds including noncompeting riders, rider s

on noncompeting horses, mounted participants in exhibition classes and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para-

Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider vi olating

this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headg ear is properly in place. Protective headgear

is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment

Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted.

GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule: 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers’ or veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration. 3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested. 5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirements without prior approval of the Veterinary Committee. Effective 12/1/15.

Hazardous Weather/Act of God/Accident Policy: Management reserves the right to cancel any class due to

hazardous weather, Acts of God, accident, or emergency. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority

given to Great American\USDF qualifying classes being offered. No refund for cancellations due to hazardous

weather, Acts of God, accidents, or emergencies.

Show Management reserves the right to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by

Show Management. All entries accepted on first come first served basis based on postmark or online entry date.

All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose decision

shall be final.

Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management

will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each

exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident

to his horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.

The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or

exhibitors, prohibit entries and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled

classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges.

Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the

owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees.

Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the

ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation.

No person will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having official

or requested duties to perform.

It is the tradition of the show that riders be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly

dressed and the horses properly presented. Management may in its discretion bar any person from entering the

ring if not suitable presented to appear before an audience.
