1. It is a day set aside to atone the sins from the past year.

2. Yom Kippur means “ Day of Atonement.”3. It occurs on the 10th day of Tishri.4. In the synagogue in prayer most of the

holiday.5. “ The evening service that starts Yom

Kippur is known for Kol Nidre named for the Prayer that begins the service.”

Dreidal• It is used in the dreidal game.• A rabbi used a dreidal to fool the Greeks so

they would not know they were studying the Torah which had been outlawed.

• The letters nun, gimmel, hey, and shin are supposed to stand for the four kingdoms which tried to destroy them in ancient times.
