Facts about early lifeJuan was born in 1474. He married a women named Leonora. The daughter of an in keeper, he had three daughters named Juana, Isabel and Maria and one son, Luis. He was born in San Servas, Spain and he was poor as a child.

Facts about later lifeJuan Ponce de Leon died on July 1521. He died because of a poisoned arrow in the shoulder. Later his remains were transferred to Cathedral of San Juan Bautista. In 1520, he took his last trip to Florida.

What they are famous for or what they discoveredThe Bahama Channel is one thing. He was famous for finding the fountain of youth. He explored the Island of Puerto RicoAnd lastly associate with the legend of the Fountain of youth

Interesting facts The tomb Juan Ponce de Leon is in San Juan. Ponce de Leon was a soldier. On March 3, 1513, Ponce de Leon sailed from Puerto Rico and a month later anchored near the mouth of the St. Johns river on the northeast coast of Florida.
