Deputy Mayor Sean Shultz has spent a life devoted toserving his community. Through his volunteer work fornumerous non-profits, as a member of Carlisle Borough
Council, and as a firefighter, Sean has worked to empower people who needed achance to get on their feet. Sean has served 12 years on Council, including as itspresident and the last four as deputy mayor. He authored and then worked to gainpassage of local protection against illegal discrimination and extending that protection tothe LGBTQ+ members of our community. He initiated Council's Greenhouse GasInventory that has led to the current Climate Action Plan. A tireless advocate of policereform over his many years, Sean is working to bring a co-responder social worker tothe Carlisle Police Department to give Carlisle the tools it needs to compassionatelyaddress those whose issues are rooted in the need for mental health and drug andalcohol services.
Carlisle is just beginning to see the pre-dawn light after the long winter night of theCOVID-19 pandemic. The last year has been tragic for so many of our residents. Manyof us have been touched personally by the loss of friends and family. Family-ownedbusinesses have struggled to stay afloat. Residents have lost jobs and income. Sean isrunning with a plan to uplift Carlisle’s residents and businesses, to restore economicstability, to rebuild in a way that gives true equity of opportunity to all our residents, andto renew our commitment to each other as a community united.

Councilor Brenda Landis was elected to Carlisle BoroughCouncil in 2018. Brenda is the volunteer coordinator for CarlisleWest Side Neighbors since 2011, is a 2014 graduate ofLeadership Cumberland, and served as spokesperson forCarlisle’s winning entry in the Strongest Town’s Competition.Brenda graduated with a degree in Communications Media fromthe Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2001 and has beenemployed at Dickinson College as a Multimedia Specialist since2003. Councilor Landis has served as a volunteer on thecoordinating committees for Hope Station’s Black History
Festival and Neighbors Helping Neighbors community improvement initiative and hasserved on the Carlisle Neighborhood Alliance board. Brenda led the campaign torenovate and revitalize Heberlig Palmer Park, which was completed in 2016 and filmedand directed the Cumberlocal documentary in 2014. Councilor Landis currently servesas the Council Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee and Vice-Chair of thePublic Works Committee. Her current term expires on December 31, 2021.

Safronia Perry is the Executive Director of Hope Station, anon-profit organization in Carlisle, PA that serveslow-income families. She served as a board member fortwo consecutive three-year terms. After a year of no boardservice, she rejoined the board of Hope Station at the
request of the Executive Director at that time. When he became ill, the board hired heras the Interim Assistant Director in April of 2016. Safronia was hired as the ExecutiveDirector in August of 2017. She attended The University of Phoenix and majored inPsychology. She has also taken five Humanities classes at Messiah College and is a2018 graduate of Leadership Cumberland. She has served on various boards andcommittees such as Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland Perry Counties,Carlisle Victory Circle, Heart & Soul, and The National Coalition of 100 Black Women.She currently serves as a board member for Leadership Cumberland, The PennsylvaniaHuman Relations Commission Inter-task Force and chairperson for the AdvisoryCouncil, Carlisle CAN, Dickinson College Learning and Action, and serves asCommissioner for the Carlisle Human Relations Commission.

I am currently seeking a seat on the Mt. Holly SpringsBorough council. I moved to Mt. Holly Springs in 1980 andestablished Robertson Family Dentistry. I practiced therefor 37 years. I have degrees from North Georgia College,the University of Georgia, and Georgetown School ofDentistry. I served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army from1969 to 1973. I was scoutmaster of boy scout troop 170for 25 years. I am currently retired but am active with mychurch, the Lions Club, and the borough water and sewerauthority. I have been attending the borough meetings forthe last 5 years and feel that I can make a positive impact
on our community.

children. Accordingly, I will continue to work hard to ensure all our children haveoutstanding teachers and administrators; 21st Century classroom learningenvironments, technology, and teaching techniques; access to curriculum that preparesthem fully for college and/or careers; access to superb extracurricular programs; andwhatever special attention they need.

Sue lives in North Middleton township with her wife andtwo sons. The family has lived in the district for the past 7years. She volunteered as the PTO president forCrestview Elementary School for two years. She holds aGrant Writing Certificate from Temple University. Her
passion lies with children with hearing differences and their families. For the last threeyears, she has attended numerous seminars, webinars, and conferences honing heradvocacy skills for deaf/hard of hearing (D/HH) children. She participates as a tableleader for early intervention technical assistance Parent Cafés by leading parents inthoughtful conversation. She is currently employed by Moral, Welfare, and Recreationas an Outdoor Recreation Assistant.

Jerry W. Stirkey is running for Carlisle School Board ( 'SchoolDirectors' ) in 2021. Jerry is currently employed by AllenDistribution as a Production Line Lead. He previously workedin Sales, in the Carlisle & Harrisburg areas. Jerry received hisBachelor’s Degree in English with a Minor in Philosophy fromShippensburg University and also holds an Associatesdegree in Electronics Engineering Technology. He has beenan active member of The Carlisle United Methodist Churchsince 2005. Jerry has lived in Carlisle all of his life, marchedin The Carlisle High School Band, and wrote for The Carlisle
Sentinel Newspaper while in College. His wife of 11 years is a High School Teacher andthey have two daughters, aged 6 & 9, currently enrolled at Hamilton Elementary School.

She is married to herwonderful and supportive husband Dr. Larry Birchett, Jr.who is a retired Major in the US Army, and they reside inNorth Middleton township in Carlisle. Dr. Birchett is apublished author and is currently pursuing her secondDoctoral degree in Educational Leadership, she is a womanfull of wisdom and has a passion for children. Learning Academy, LLC which is a Daycare /Learning Lab opening in Spring 2021 and
