• In some subjects, like Maths and English, pupils are ‘settedsetted’ specifically for that subject.

• In other subjects, like P.E., pupils from different tiers are taught togethertogether.

• There is a review of pupils’ academic progress and effort every six months.

• Some pupils will move through the tiers at a faster rate, while others may take a little longer.

subjects, ensuring the pacepace and challengechallenge of learning is maintained for all pupils.

• At key stage 4, pupils from our ‘middle’ tiers opt for a mixturemixture of traditional GCSEs and vocational courses. On average this secures them the equivalent of 8 grade Bsequivalent of 8 grade Bs.

• Over 70%Over 70% of our pupils optopt to return to Toot Hill College at 16, to continue their education.

• The pacepace and challengechallenge of work enables pupils to be genuinely readyready to start GCSEs early. Our pupils are already proving this!

Extra Support where it is needed most

• Pupils are taught in small groupssmall groups, where we concentrate our additional additional supportsupport.

• There is a high focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills for lifeskills for life.

• At key stage 4, we offer a range of vocational coursesvocational courses, allowing pupils to secure, on average, the equivalent of 8 equivalent of 8 grade Csgrade Cs, and the option to join the College.

• Our tracking systems are highly developed, and monitor pupils’ progress in modules, coursework and lessons.

• Senior staff work very closely with our Achievement Coordinators & Performance Directors.
