SP-Stacks 10 theough JSPM in NW2004sThis question has been Answered.

Hi,

I have installed NW2004s and my Support Package Stack level is 9 & now i am tring to update it to

SP-Stacks through JSPM but at check Queue i am error in sap.com/SAP KERNEL & Status is

REVISE.

Details Messages:

Kernel with support package level SAP KERNEL and version 7.00.236.0 that is located in

<HOSTNAME>\sapmnt\trans\EPS\in invalid. Kernel with patch level KERNEL UNICODE

WINDOWS_X86_64 and version 7.00236.0 with archives names

<HOSTNAME>\sapmnt\trans\EPS\in\SAPEXEDB_236-20001361.SAR is invalid. Required archives

SAPEXE.SAR are missing from Kernel archive set

<HOSTNAME>\sapmnt\trans\EPS\in\SAPEXEDB_236-20001361.SAR

For this i downloaded SAPEXE_236-20001354 & SAPEXEDB_236-200013612 to 3 time but

everytime i am getting same error.

Its a java stand alone.

I also search SDN but not getting solution

Any idea?

Can you explain your configuration are the Disk D: the local drive ?

Try to give directly full access for SIDADM user for D:\usr\sap folder (and other child folders

including

\DEO\JC00\j2ee\JSPM . Are you check your D disk using any program?

hi, are you patch the JSPM first ?

P.S. are you trying single Single Support Package or kernel are part of "Support Package Stack" ?

Thanks for response. Yes 1st updated jspm 10 to 12 through JSPM (Single support package)

& then i am tring to do nthis one

I updating SP-Stacks 10 with allsupport package including Kernel 236.

As i can see in marketplace latest are JSPM 21 not 12 ... Are you trying kernel patch with

same method ? (Single support package) ? Are you trying other kernel level's not so high ?

P.S. why you need so old level (10) ? The patches are not cumulative in JAVA world, you can

directly patch to latest level ...

Thanks for Contrast on my issue,

I am new in JAVA. i am trying to apply support Stack.

So r u suggesting first i will update through JSPM

1. Kernel

2. JSPM

3. Support package

or else directly SP-Stack21 (including Kernel, jspm & support package)

You can do using one of 2 methods , as Single Support Package , or directly

Hi,

As per ur advice now i changed the scenario and 1st i am

patcheing Kernel i kept

SAPEXE_236-20001354

SAPEXE_236-20001354.SAR

SAPEXEDB_236-20001361

SAPEXEDB_236-20001361.SAR

these 4 file in ..usr\sap\trans\EPS\in directory and start JSPM and

select single support package as Kernel 75 to 236 and start

deployement but i am getting error like

Cannot exchange kernel binary archives.

Cannot exchange kernel binary archives.could not excute the Kernel

patch. See previous messages. could finish copy opertion with

parameters fromfile ", tofile,"toDir

Hi, are you doing this operation under "SID"adm user , and this

user are in Administrators group on this server ? Also close all

MMC console (SAP MMC, good if you reboot server, and after do

it for new). Regards.

Try to check this solution's jspm cannot exchange

kernel binary archives

also you can exchange kernel files manually. Regards.

Looks like the files are corrupt, hope you are transferring

the files in the binary mode.

Can u brief what exactly u want to tell?

My question is whether i should upgrade kernel mannualy?

Steps:

1. Extract the Content of

SAPEXE_236-20001354

SAPEXE_236-20001354.SAR

SAPEXEDB_236-20001361

SAPEXEDB_236-20001361.SAR

2. Copy te content in <Drive>:\usr\sap\

<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64

3. And restart the J2ee Engine.

Hi, "And restart the J2ee Engine" i'm think you can only start

, not restart, also before copy the content , first of all

stop all WINDOWS services releted to sap, and after

BACKUP old kernel files first!

after extracting try to execute any binary file like tp.exe from

CMD (to check are your windows configuration good for this

new kernel files) , if tp.exe works fine, and after try to copy .

I Have done Kernel Upgrade through Mannul Process & i

am able see Kernel 236 in JSPM.

So now i will do

1. JSPM 12 to 21

2. Then i will do rest Support Package once

Any Advice about this process.

If you want do Single Support Package , yes procedure are

correct .

I think my JSPM updated to 21 bcoz as per advice when i

am trying to updated JSPM through SDM it showing:

SDM has not calculated any deployment actions.

Possible reasons:

All selected archives have already been deployed before in

the same or in a higher version.

But still now my JSPM not starting it showing following

error:

Are your trying to check Windows "event viewer" ? Look's

like you have problem on hard Disk level, try to check all

media using any software tools, or using windows tool's at

least. The JVM version you use are ?

I am not finding error in Event viewer & i am using

j2sdk1.4.2_13-x64.

1. I am updated Kernel mannualy process.

2. Updated JSPM through JSPM from 9 to 21

After that i am not able to start JSPM
