The Euratom Research and Training Programme objectives are:
-to pursue and support research on all aspects of nuclear safety andsecurity, reducing risks associated with radiation exposures, supportingemergency preparedness and response in relation to accidents involvingradiation and managing the spent fuel and radioactive waste.
-The Programme also aims to sustain the development of fusion energy inview of its potential major impact in contributing to the decarbonisation ofthe energy mix.
Preparation of the 2021-2025 Euratom Research and Training Programme
Some elements :- Safety of nuclear systems- management of radioactive waste and spent fuel, Decommissioning- Radiation protection, Emergency preparedness- Nuclear science applications, Security of supply of medical radioisotopes- Nuclear safeguards and non-proliferation- Nuclear security (prevention, detection, forensics, response)- Knowledge and expertise in the EU- Innovation, knowledge management, competitiveness, dissemination,
exploitation- Nuclear research infrastructure- Support to EU policy on nuclear safety, safeguards and security- Science base for standardisation
