The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
President Snyder presented the following statement in reference to !
the employment of a v e r t e r i n a r i a n i n charge of the ve t e r ina ry d iv i s ion :

To the Honorable S ta te Board of Agr icu l tu re :
At a previous meeting, the s e l e c t i o n of a dean of the ve t e r ina ry department was l e f t with the pres ident of the co l l ege , Dean Shaw, and Dr. Marshal l . I t was understood, at t ha t t ime, t ha t Dr. Richard P. Lyman would probably he se lec ted for the place at a s a l a ry of #2500.00 per year . Dr. Lyman l a t e r v i s i t e d the College and the committee, under the au tho r i ty granted "by the Board, se lec ted him for the place at the sa la ry named. He has already taken up the .du t ies of h i s p o s i t i o n .

Your committee on Employees, widen was given authority to fill vacancies, begs leave to make the following report. The committee has only filled positions made vacant by resignation and at salaries in no instance beyond those set by the Board. In a number of cases^positions have been filled at a less salary than has been previously paid, make a total saving of something like 11200,

Kempster 's On motion of Mr. Doherty, the expenses of Mr. Kempster were allowed expenses allowed, -while attending a meeting of poultry instructors in Ames, Iowa.
On motion of Mr. Doherty, the President, secretary, and superintendent Building Com mittee ap- iof Public Instruction were appointed a committee to looK into the building needs of pointed
the institution, and make a report to the Board.
On motion of Mr. Waterbury, Mr. Doherty was authorized to sigh the
vouchers for.the past month. . .
On motion of Mr. Graham, Mr. Waterbury was appointed to sign the
!vouchers for the present month and until some one else is designated.
On motion of Mr. Waterbury, .00 v/as added to the apportionment of Forestry -&780 for microscopes 'the forestry department for the purchase of microscopes. Anderson mem On motion of Mr. Waterbury, Mr. Anderson was made a member of the Experiment Iber Station i Council. 'Station Council.

On motion of Mr. Doherty, the following ru l e s i n reference to the
refund of student fees and room r e n t , were adopted:
RESOLVED, THAT THE FOLLOWING RULES SHOULD BE OBSERVED IF THEREFUND OF STUDENT FEES AND ROOM RENT:
Students v o l u n t a r i l y leaving college wi th in twenty days from the date of t h e i r c l a s s i f i c a t i o n w i l l , upon approval of the P re s iden t , he refunded a l l fees pa id , as shown by c l a s s i f i c a t i o n card, includingH»e£*4«»i€fcfcieft-fe&-7 room ren t for the even weeks remaining, with the except ion of the ma t r i cu l a t ion fee , which w i l l in no case he refunded; a f t e r t h a t time and previous t o the close of the f i r s t half of the term, only one half such fees w i l l he refunded with room rent as above ind ica ted . After the c lose of t he f i r s t hal f of the term, no refund w i l l he made except of room ren t for the even weeks remaining. No refund of any kind w i l l be made to s tudents who are suspended or expel led from college or put out of t h e i r rooms for breach of d i s c i p l l n .
On motion of Mr. Graham, the following r e s o l u t i o n was adopted:
RESOLVED, That of the amount of the 1/10 m i l l appropr ia t ion remaining in the hands of the State Treasurer at the close of the f i s c a l year 1910, not more than #2000.00 Will he required to cover the current expenses of Michigan Agr icu l tu ra l College on account of "former yea r . "
On motion of Mr. Oherdorffer, the follOYfing r e s o l u t i o n was adopted:
RESOLVED, That there i s hereby appropriated under the provis ions of Act 232 P.A. 1901, as amended , for Sundry Improvements at Michigan Agr i cu l tu ra l College, the sum of $5000.00.
The matter of Pan American Exhibi t ion was l a i d on the t ab le without
ob jec t ion .
The Secretary ca l led a t t e n t i o n to a l e t t e r from Governor Warner in
reference to the encouragement of a l f a l f a growing i n the s t a t e .
On motion of Mr. Graham, the expenses of t he Board Members were allowed.

On motion of Mr. Graham, the minutes of the previous meetings were
approved without reading.
On motion of Mr. Wallace, the report of Mr, v/aterbury as chairman of
the Committee on Buildinga and College Property, that the road running south
near the College laboratories be moved farther west, was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Wallace, Prof. Patten was authorized to attend the
meeting of the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists at Washington, D.C,
Nov. 11th and 12th.
