FAITH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF EMMAUS 3002 N. Second Street - PO Box 507 - Emmaus, PA 18049

ARE YOU NEW TO FAITH CHURCH? If this is your first time in worship with us here at Faith Church,

welcome! We want to get to know you, so be sure to sign the friendship registry, which can be found at one end of the pew.

BEAUTIFICATION DAY On Saturday, August 24th, we will have a beautification day at

Dodd Elementary school! This will be a great event to partner with another Allentown elementary school to help get the grounds ready for the kids to go back to school! We are looking for volunteers to help us in 2 shifts: morning (8:00 am-noon) and afternoon (noon-4:00 pm). We will be working alongside teacher and parent volunteers from the school. We will have a lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers to take a break and build relationships with friends. Please bring your shovels, rakes, gardening gloves, and wheel barrows. Sign up on the sheet in the narthex, on the coffee table.

CONSIGN FOR GOOD Want to help with Consign for Good? See Kris Melnick (or any

committee member) for more information.

SCRIP ORDERS Way to go scrip shoppers! We raised just shy of $100 for Faith

Church, the pastor’s discretionary fund specifically. Thank you to those who jumped onboard! The next deadline for orders is September 8. Won’t you consider being part of this super easy fundraising effort?

DO YOU HAVE AN EXTRA MINUTE? The Board of Deacons has identified the following members who are

either confined to their homes, at a nursing facility, or sometimes unable to attend Sunday worship services:

Kay Cole --------------------- Home Dotti Harshman ------------- Home Marie Heffner --------------- Phoebe Home Sandy Missmer ------------- Home Dody Perrin ----------------- Home

If you have an extra minute, perhaps you could call, send a card or even visit one of these members. Their phone numbers and addresses are located in the Faith Directory. Be a Deacon in your own right and help make someone’s day a little brighter.

Mark your calendars for our autumn Yard Sale. We are opening up to individuals sellers again this year. Details and registration form can be

requested by emailing the church at [email protected]. Registration is open until September 2.

SAVE THE DATE! Mark your calendars for September 8. That’s the date Sunday

School begins, and also the date for the church picnic.

LEMON TREE BAZAAR The Westminster Auxiliary invites you (or someone you know) to

be a vendor at the 11/9/2019 Lemon Tree Bazaar. Tables are $25. (You keep all profit.) This is NEW for 2019 (in place of the furniture sale). Vendors will be on the 4th floor. There will be signage (about vendors/4th floor) on the other floors. We will have a Facebook “event” on Westminster’s Facebook page, where we will advertise the vendors and the bazaar. Interested? Please contact Beth Kunkle. (610-769-0327). Thank you.

PHOTOS NEEDED Do you have a smart phone? Then, you are a designated church

photographer! You are encouraged to take photos of church members/friends at our events and activities! Right after snapping pictures, you can send them right to Lynda in the church office by email to ([email protected]), where she will store them for use in publications or just store them for church history! We are always looking to document our church activity. Thank you!
