JOY IN WORKING TOGETHER
December 2019
Dear Seabury Community,
It is with gratitude that I write
at year-end to thank you for
channeling your personal
philanthropy through the
Seabury Charitable
Foundation. Many of you
have provided funds for our
work over the year through
generous gifts, some in
memory of dear friends and
loved ones and some “just
because.” All of you made it
possible for the Foundation
to underwrite our new
wheelchair-accessible van.
Some of you have already
enjoyed a ride—I did and it
is quite advanced in
its capabilities!
Soon it will be wrapped in the
Foundation’s motif that will
remind all in the community
that “Seabury Cares.”
Speaking of Seabury Cares,
our new online presence
can be found at
www.seaburycares.org.
The site will serve as a space
which will celebrate the
joy that so many bring to
participation in community
activities and generosity.
Thank you for a
wonderful year!
Judy Rodgers
Executive Director

NEWEST LEGACY
SOCIETY MEMBER
Hazel Stavrinos was an active
member of the Bloomfield
community. She brought her
commitment to volunteerism to
the Seabury campus when she
came here ten years ago. She
was a member of the Seabury
Alter Guild and was actively
engaged in many activities.
“If anyone needed help
at Seabury, Hazel was
ready to volunteer!” says
Jodi Morrissey,
Activities Coordinator.
We celebrate Hazel Stavrinos
and will honor her on the
donor board.

It was pure joy to welcome the
Hartford Symphony Orchestra
to campus on November 4 for
the first of five performances.
The quartet played a wonderful
assortment of jazz to a
full house.
Please join us at the upcoming
performances of the HSO in the
Bishops’ Chapel on January 6,
March 16, April 6 and May 11.

It was a wonderful moment
recently when the Seabury
Charitable Foundation
provided a new lawnmower
to the Trails Committee.
On one of the last warm
and sunny fall days, the
crew gathered to see the
new purchase and take a
peek under the hood.
Enjoying the new horsepower!
