Etosha National Park
ETOSHA: NAMIBIA
• Etosha is one of Africa’s largest game parks, much of whichiscovered by the silver Etosha salt pan that shimmers in theheat.
• A San legend about the formation of the Etosha Pan tells of how a village was raided and everyone but the women slaughtered. One woman was so upset about the death of her family she cried until her tears formed a massive lake. When the lake dried up nothing was left apart from a huge white pan.
• To the south of the pan there are open grasslands, woodlandand permanent waterholes that act as a magnet for game.
• On Etosha’s grassveld it is easy to find grazers, including Burchell’s zebra, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest and black-faced impala. Kudu are found on the margins of the woodland, whilst giraffe nibble the acacias and eland come to drink. Elephant occur in hundred-strong herds whilst black and white rhino are found, particularly in the west of the park.

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK: BOTSWANA• Botswana is renowned for its environmental complexity and contrast.
Its diverse terrain, wildlife, plants, birds and reptiles make this an excellent safari destination.
• Situated in Northern Botswana on the Chobe River, the Chobe National Park encompasses a lush riverine system including floodplains, woodland and periodic marsh. The unique aspect of this area is that safari is carried out both on land and water. The diversity of habitats attracts multitudinous game.
• In particular, there is an impressively huge elephant population atChobe – the largest in the world at around 140,000 elephants. Thepark is exceptionally close to the borders of Namibia, Zambia andZimbabwe, enabling sightseeing trips to other countries as part ofyour journey.

VICTORIA FALLS: ZAMBIA• When David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary, first
glimpsed the majestic Falls in 1855, he claimed “Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight” and named them after Queen Victoria. The force of the falling water produces high clouds of spray, which gave the falls their African name: Mosi-oa-Tunya - “the Smoke that Thunders”.
• Livingstone, is the tourism capital of Zambia. Located just 10km from the world-famous, spectacular Victoria Falls and the starting point for a number of adrenaline activities and sightseeing adventures, Livingstone has earned its title as the Adventure Capital ofAfrica.
• Activities at the Falls include, Elephant Interaction, Bunji Jumping, High wire Activities, White Water Rafting, Canoe safaris, Helicopter Flights over the Falls and Cultural Village experiences.
