When I was asked to write the score for the BBC Africa Series, the brief I was given was that it had to be many stories
with diverse themes for each film. I wanted to draw the audience deep into the African landscape and feel the emotion of these incredible stories. Some epic, some intimate, some very scary and unforgiving but all very beautiful. I have tried to capture the essence of these places - Cape, Congo, Savannah and the Kalahari - and the amazing and sometimes very mysterious wildlife hidden in the most unlikely of places! I hope you enjoy this CD as much as I enjoyed composing and producing the music
