How To Build A Snowman / Tips
By : Makayla Zickafoose
To build a snowman you first need to make a large sized ball, this will be
the bottom of the snowman. Next, you need to make a medium sized ball
smaller than your first ball. Then place it on top of your big ball. Lastly, you
need to make a small ball, this will be the head of your snowman. Then you
can decorate however you would like and that is how you build a snowman.
Tips:
If you put a little bit of water in your snow. It will make it stick together
better.
The deeper you push your nose, eyes, and mouth in the snowman the
harder it is to get it out. {meaning it will stay longer}
If you get a long stick and place it in the middle of your snowman. It will
stand better on its own. {it will last longer}
Winter Fashion
By: Makayla Zickafoose
As most people know, winter fashion is cute and stylish. Winter fashion in-
cludes mostly sweaters, jackets, and long sleeves are very popular. During the winter
keeping warm is very important because it is cold outside. However at CMS some
students dress warm while others wear short sleeves. Students should always check
the weather each night in order to know the appropriate clothing to wear for school.
Students should always remember that dressing for the weather will help eliminate
the chance of becoming ill.
Student Council
Sami Jo Workman
Student Council is doing a toy drive that is due 12/20 and box tops are due at
the end of the month. If you want to win something for your class collect some box
tops and raise money for the school. The student council members are going to write
a few Christmas cards which will be taken to the nursing homes. At the nursing
home they will be doing arts and crafts, singing Christmas carols, and then distrib-
uting them the cards. Afterwards, the student council will go to Gatti's. They can
bring $8 or $5 for extra money for games.

Video Game Review
By: Harley Adams
Super Mario Odyssey is a new game that came out and made everyone hap-
py. They showed this game off in January and since the trailer was released
everyone went crazy. A lot of people pre-ordered it and got the Nintendo
switch bundle. A lot of people beat the game and got all the missions com-
pleted really fast!
This game is new, but not that new, it came out October the 27 but that isn't
that old. The game is about Princess Peach getting kidnapped again. You play
as Mario and his new friend Cappy, it turns out Bowser also kidnapped Cap-
py's sister Tiara. In the game you can throw your hat at things and become
them, you can even become a T-rex! You will be collecting moons to power
your ship "The Odyssey" to progress to the next world.
You can also get clothes to wear and some characters may give you moons
for wearing certain clothes and talking to them. Many people have been lik-
ing the game and its been getting rave reviews like 8/10 and 9/10 or 10/10.
Black Friday Sale
By Harley Adams
Some stores on Black Friday had good sales. I was one of the many to go
there and take advantage of the amazing sales. Some stores that had good
sales were GameStop, Kohl's, and many others! I found some products that
were over 50% off! There were $60 games that were $20! Some products I
found at Kohl's were at a great phce too.
I found some ornaments for $9 or less! The Black Friday sale was amazing!
So many stores to go to, and less people if you went early. I didn’t get to go
to very many stores but the ones I went too had some awesome Black Fri-
day prices!

Christmas Dinner
by Nevin Hill
Christmas dinner dates back farther than medieval times. Christmas dinner
started for the birth of Christ because he was the saviour of the world. Christ-
mas is the tradition of the year that almost all people celebrate and the sec-
ond most loved besides the presents is the food of course from ham to mash
edotatoes. Clearly, it is one of the best things on this holiday we call Christ-
mas.
Christmas Recipes by: Taylor Ball
Hi I'm a student at CMS and I'm here to tell you my teacher’s favorite Christ-
mas recipes. My first teacher's favorite is Reindeer Chow. Reindeer Chow
sounds supper delicious and it goes great with our Christmas spirt. Next, we
have Puppy Chow. Puppy Chow is also similar to Reindeer Chow. Then we have
BBQ Chex Mix. This is also similar to the ones I have done so far. I guess a lot of
people like this stuff. And the last one we have is Peanut Butter Balls. If you're
someone that likes peanut butter I would definitely recommend this recipe.
What is your favorite Christmas recipe?

Dalton Baisden Opinion On Deer Meat
Many hunters hunt for the sport of it. However, some hunters hunt for the veni-
son. Many families in our area bring the deer meat home to cook for their family.
Deer meat in my opinion is very tasty. Venison can be eaten as a steak, hamburg-
er, jerky and venison stew. The following CMS students shared their favorite type
of venison.

Deer Season in West Virginia
By Leland Anderson
It is the season for deer hunting. I hope everyone has good luck this deer sea-
son. But we all know safety comes first, so let's talk about how to be safe out
in the woods/ hills. If you hunt with a rifle you will need to wear an orange
vest because if some else would happen to be outside they would accidently
shoot you instead of a deer. If you hunt with a bow you would need to put the
right arrows in your bow to be able to shoot a deer. If you are planning to hunt
when it is very cold you should remember to wear a couple layers of clothes.
Wearing the appropriate clothing will help prevent the hunter from getting
cold. So, a hunter should remember to wear 2 shirts with a jacket and a cou-
ple pairs of pants with camouflage pants . Wearing camouflage is very im-
portant. Then, if you want a big Buck it would be best to put you a couple of
trail cameras out to see what kind deer you got walking around. Or if you do
not want to do that you can get a 50 pound or 100-pound bag of corn to put
out so they will come to you when you are hunting. Many hunters stay out in
the woods from dusk to down to see if anything will come to you. Good luck
and be safe!

The Meaning of Christmas
People celebrate Christmas for different reasons. A lot of people think Christmas is
just about the presents, Santa and the stocking. Christmas is celebrated in many
countries around the world. There are a lot of different traditions. However,
Christmas to many people is a religious holiday. Christmas is the day of Jesus's
birthday. Many people exchange gifts , gather with family, and attend church. The
real reason why my family and I actually celebrate Christmas is that the day that
Jesus was born.
Christmas Day
By Cash Ferrell
Christmas day is about celebrating Jesus's birth. We celebrate Christmas by giv-
ing not receiving. We get presents every year at Christmas day. Some people
have a elf on the shelf to celebrate for Christmas. My family celebrates by staying
home and opening presents. Some people celebrate by going to places and
opening presents. Just remember the true meaning of Christmas. Hope you have
a good Christmas!

Mason Jar with the pretzels, then screw the lid back on tight. Then, Glue
the Black Buttons on the Jar, One in the middle one on the top and
bottom. Next, you want to cut a piece of ribbon off and tie it around the

I can't believe it's almost here, my favorite time of this year. Being here with
my family, is important to me. My favorite thing about Christmas is candy, can-

Christmas Eve
By: Savannah Meadows
Christmas Eve is the day before Christmas. It is always on the 24th of Decem-
ber. Christmas Eve is the time to be with family, not by yourself! It's not fun to
be alone on Christmas Eve and especially not on Christmas! A lot of people
start their holiday celebrations on Christmas Eve.
Sometimes if people have several places to go on Christmas Day they will open
their gifts on Christmas Eve, so that they can go where they need to go on
Christmas Day. Have a happy Christmas Eve!

Tasty Dishes of the Month
By: Taylor Ball
Some great dishes to try this month would be buffalo chicken dip, lasagna
loaded potato and vegetable pizza. The first buffalo chicken dip is very good
and I highly recommend to try this! Next, Lasagna is delicious. It takes a little
time to make but well worth it. Last is the loaded potato skins. These are
scrumptious. And the last recipe I have for you today is vegetable pizza. This
sounds quite appetizing. If you would like to try to make these delicious dish-
es just click on the link:

Spring Nail Designs
All kinds of people like to do nails. They do them based on holidays, fun de-
signs, or seasons such as spring! When I say "spring nails" I mean with spring
colors or flowers, or anything that’s in spring. To make good spring nails first
you need to clean and clip your nails. Then, pick out spring colored nail polish
such as, green, pink, yellow, or bright colors. You also need things like tooth-
picks to do the actual design. Once you know what you want them to look like
you can start painting!

Yolanda King, and Dexter Scott King. He wrote the famous "I Have a Dream"

Winter Decoration
By Molly Lamb
This is the time of year when families and communities
everywhere decorate for Christmas. Decorations tend
to put people in the Christmas spirit. Most people dec-
orate from schools, homes, and business. Decorations
are a symbol of peace, love and Christmas cheer.

St. Patrick's Day
By: Isaac Kirby
St. Patrick's Day is a global celebration of Irish culture on or around March 17. It
particularly remembers St. Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered
Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.
Patrick's birth name was Maewyn. He was born in Roman Britain. He was kid-
napped into slavery and brought to Ireland. Patrick became a bishop and after his
death was named Ireland's patron saint
