• From 17 years he worked in the "Civil and military newspaper." A few years later Kipling published stories and essays in the newspapers "Simple tales from the hills" and "The Ballad of East and West," which made him famous not only in India but throughout the British Empire.

In 1889 he returned to England. By this time Kipling became a classic of English literature.

In 1902 Kipling returned, absorbed in literary work. In the same 1902 Kipling published "Tales of fun" as well as a collection of English legends. This work became so popular that in 1906 he published a collection of children's stories from the history of ancient Britain.
