JON KRAKAUER Jon Krakauer (born 1954) is an American writer and mountaineer (he climbed Mount Everest in 1996). He is the author of best-selling non-fiction and/or investigative books (Into the Wild, Into Thin Air…) as well as numerous magazine articles (for Outside magazine, National Geographic, Rolling Stone…).
