Dear Santa; I am sooo excited for the Team 9 kids Christmas party! There is always cool crafts, a fun guy to watch, great food, and YOU actually come see me with a present. It’s Awesome! See you soon!

Hi-Way 9 Group of Companies doesn’t just give away any prize to its Team. They go BIG, and they go LOUD! September’s four winners walked away with a BIG screen TV, and a LOUD surround-sound sys-tem to couple the two factors together.

The winners from each zone were: Calgary-Gord Wenzel

Red Deer-Jon Korsh

Edmonton-Jill Downing

Drumheller-Darryl Caravan

Topping that off (quite literally) were some amazing sundaes creat-ed at each hub terminal, which almost turned into a competition of its own. Who created the best, biggest, and craziest sundaes in the system? The winner just can’t be chosen, as the “art” has long-since been devoured.

How does a Team 9 member become eligible to enter the next quar-terly draw? Qualify for the three prior months’ quality share. That is September, October and November. December will be the next draw and it is just in time for the Christmas season!

Work hard, Team 9. Take care of those customers, and YOU could very well be the next winner. Good luck!

TEAM 9 NEVER STOPS LEARNING-NEVER STOPS TRAINING

Team 9 must focus on the four main safety highlights we have focused on these past few months. We have been able, with everyone’s effort, to im-prove our load securement, brakes, lights and documentation problems. Let’s continue to improve in these areas by never leaving the yard without proper load securement, check all documents, lights and brakes – in es-sence a proper pre-trip. Remember to secure the load after every pick

up or delivery.

Did you know-this past month we have had two seat belt violations and a talking on a cell phone when driving. Each an easy fix since we all know the rules of the road.

We also need to continue to use chock blocks when at our docks and when able, at cus-tomer’s location regardless if it is a body job or tractor. Team 9, let’s continue to go from good to great and keep the trend moving in the right direction.

IT’S ABOUT COMMUNITY!

There isn’t one Albertan that was not affected by the floods in June of this year. Some Team 9 members were personally caught in the chaos of this natural disaster. Being a part of this community only pushes Hi-Way 9 harder to help support, and care for the areas affected. And in September Todd Allen of Team 9 spent his day cooking burgers and representing Hi-Way 9 in their sup-port for rebuilding this community. The spirit of Team 9 shines in his actions. Thanks Todd.

ROAD HEROES If any Team 9 member

receives a clean CVSA Pass and takes it to the Team

Leader, they are awarded $200.

Will YOU be Team 9’s next Road Hero?

*Dates of trip within agreeable parameter of Hi-Way 9 Group of Companies.

*Not cash refundable

*Must be eligible to cross Canadian borders (already obtain passport or able to qualify for one)

How can you make it happen?

*Team 9 member must be in attendance at

2013 Hi-Way 9 Annual Christmas Celebration and

That’s it. That’s all. WHO will be the winner?

Using a seat belt is the most effective way to reduce the chance of injury or death in a motor vehicle collision. In Alberta, every person travelling in a motor ve-hicle must wear a seat belt or use a child safety seat. The penalty for seat belt infractions is a fine of $115. When your vehicle is moving, you MUST wear a seat belt.

While operating a forklift, the provided seat belt must also be used.

Safety-It’s a culture. Safety-It’s a life-saver.

Focus on the Positives! Some Quality Achievements Received

“Going the Extra Mile”

Rob Hutton–Calgary-There were extra small deliveries on the trailer and it created a lot of havoc and extra work and driving. You handled it great and worked with me on it and really showed you cared and wanted to get the job done.

Prenesh Kumar–Red Deer-I received a nice call from Bob of Kerry Wood Nature Centre commending you on your professional attitude this morning. The delivery was not a particularly easy order to off load, but he said you used good judgement and care with the delivery. Thank-you for the care shown with this delivery.

James Stebanuk–Streamline-Due to lack of P&D when James arrived back to the terminal, instead of asking to go home, he took it upon himself to help clean the dock. Every little bit helps from everyone! Great job James!

Checking in with Team 9 Customers in Southern Alberta, our Customer Care Specialist received these comments on Bart Greenway. PINCHER CREEK FARM CENTRE/NAPA AUTO PARTS-Sean said that Bart does an excellent job for them. No concerns here. EXPRESS SIGN PRODUCTS. She said that re-ally like our driver Bart. TOWN & COUNTRY LIQUOR STORES-He also had great words to say about our driver, Bart. FORT MACLEOD ECONOMY LUMBER- They like the service that Bart and Hi-Way 9 give them. Well, Bart, it looks like you are certainly taking

care of our customers! THANK-YOU!

Tina Hermanson, (Drumheller Receivables) You are so quick!!

Whether it is Truck pride or uniform pride, company pride or personal pride… Team 9 displays all it takes to ensure its customers and the communities they serve are more than aware of the amazing Team that is tak-ing care of them. One cannot help but notice the units and their shining chrome. Having a driver show up in clean attire with a smile on their face is an-other indicator of the com-pany represented. Tidy fa-cilities. Complete paper-work. It’s all about PRIDE. Amazing job Team 9!

Jim Spycher is known to show up to work on a daily basis, not only with clean Hi-Way 9 attire but a smile on his face. We’d like to recognize this by awarding him with a new Team 9 jacket for his “pride”. Thank-you Jim.
