MetSoc Airey Award Christopher Twigge-Molecey, Global Managing Director, Hatch Ltd. Citation: “In recognition of outstanding leadership, exemplary vision, and a lifetime of innovation and technology development in the mining and metals industry, as well as advocacy to research and education in academia.” The Airey award is a memorial to H.T. A TMS member for more than 15 years, Wells is currently a professor of materials engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering and Associate Dean for Outreach at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include development and manufacturing of advanced metallic products for transportation and other sectors. Additionally, Wells serves as the university’s chair of the Women in Engineering committee, where she established the WE-connect program to consolidate engineering outreach programs for young students of underrepresented minorities. She earned her B.Eng. at McGill University and her Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Edouard Asselin Named MetSoc Vice President Edouard Asselin was elected 3rd Vice President of the MetSoc Board of Directors during COM 2015. Asselin is an associate professor and Canada Research Chair in Aqueous Processing of Metals at the University of British Columbia. His research interests include hydrometallurgy and electrochemistry. Since joining TMS, Asselin has served on several committees, including the Extraction & Processing Division (EPD) Council. In 2011, he received the EPD Young Leaders Professional Development Award. He received his B.A.Sc. from the University of Ottawa and his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia.
