Brisbane, Thursday 12 May 2016 As the most used construction material, concrete is widely used for residential footing slabs, driveways and footpaths. Durability and versatility are the two virtues of concrete. However, you may not know that, with many new solutions now available, even affordability could be an added feature of concrete houses as well. Come and join us at this seminar to learn about the possibilities with concrete for housing. From design inspiration, to engineering consideration, you will bring back the knowledge and ideas that may help you with your next housing project. Session 1: Architectural inspirations “I came, I saw, I concreted - On loving the concrete in your house” The love of surface, texture, pattern, thermal mass, solidity, integrity, durability and plasticity. Session 2: Engineering considerations Developing the structure for a residential house using Insulated Concrete Forms - a design that would be simple but with structural integrity to accommodate N5 wind loads and layout required. Session 3: What is practically achievable? What will and won’t work with concrete for residential housing projects? PROGRAM Concrete for Housing New Inspirations REGISTER NOW!
