CONFERENCE PROGRAMME

With major infrastructure investment shaping large parts of the capital, from Euston to Old Oak Common, how is London realising the potential for ‘good growth’ around these key nodes? As stated by the Mayor in the draft London Plan, ‘close co-ordination of land use and transport planning is crucial to effective and sustainable spatial development’ – so how are we adopting a joined-up approach on new infrastructure sites from central to outer London?

This NLA half-day conference brings together transport experts, architects, planners, local authorities, developers and consultants for updates on key projects and discussion around how we are developing the right mix of uses around new and existing nodes.

SUPPORT THE PROGRAMME

Investment and innovation within transport and infrastructure is critical to supporting London’s growth.

In NLA’s year-round programme, experts come together to assess, analyse, and project the future of movement within London, inviting new ideas and thinking, regularly debating radical ideas. How do we encourage investment into major projects and maximise their development potential? Are we creating a compact, connected city that is fit for this growing population? In the advent of drones and intelligent mobility, how are we rethinking transport design and planning, and the capital’s connectivity? There are opportunities to either Champion or Support of this programme. To find out more about how you could get involved in the events and output across our platforms please get in touch with the Membership Team via on 0207 636 4044.

PROGRAMME SUPPORTER

TfL was created in 2000 and is the integrated body responsible for the Capital’s transport system. Its main role is to implement the Mayor’s Transport Strategy for London and manage transport services across the Capital for which the Mayor has responsibility. We work to make journeys easier through technology and data. We provide modern ways to pay through Oyster and contactless payment cards and provide information in different formats to help people move around London.

Our programmes of transport capital investment is one of the world’s largest. It is building the Elizabeth line, modernising Tube services and stations, transforming the road network and making it safer, especially for more vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.

Engenie are an electric vehicle (EV) rapid charging provider committed to enabling clean, quiet road transport for future generations. Switching petrol/diesel cars, taxis and vans to electric is a crucial part of the wider shift to a healthier transport system that still keeps London moving in all its different modes. Engenie’s public rapid charging service makes this possible for drivers without off-street parking, plus supports electric car-sharing, taxis and van fleets. Forthcoming ultra-rapid chargers will be suitable for electric buses. Engenie’s charger supply, installation and maintenance is fully funded for local councils and boroughs, with whom we’re aiming to partner in London and across the UK.
