Noon-1:00 pm: Luncheon Keynote Speaker: State Senator Monica Martinez (D-Suffolk County) Senator Martinez was a champion of animal issues when she was on the Suffolk County Legislature. Elected to the Senate in November, 2018, she is now chair of the newly created Domestic Animal Welfare Committee. Lunch will be provided. 1:00-2:30 pm: It Happens: What You Need to Know When Handling Wild Animals Speaker: Lt. Liza-J Bobseine, Region Four Headquarters, NYS ENCON Police While most of the time, ACOs, DCOs and Humane Law Enforcement are responding to cruelty cases involving companion animals, there are times when you’ll be faced with wildlife, like racoons or hedgehogs. Learn some basic techniques for handling wildlife and resources you can call on for help.
