Getting Started• Requirements – to use Join-In Kindle you need to have a Kindle (Amazon)

account. Make sure to have your login and password available.

• Login – After selecting the Join-In Kindle Gridset from your Grid Explorer, followthe sequence – Login and Info => Sign In => Email or Phone => enter your Kindle(Amazon) account email or phone number => Password => enter your Kindle(Amazon) account password => if the “Keep me signed in” box is not checked,click Keep Me Signed In => Sign In.

• You are now logged in to your Kindle account. Select Continue to Kindle to startusing the app.

• Join-In Gridsets are available in different languages and optimized for use withdifferent input devices. For most apps there is also a regular ‘Full’ version and a‘Lite’ version with larger buttons and almost identical functionality. Please referto the Join-In for Grid 3 Getting Started guide for information on how todownload the Gridsets that are best for you.

Where Am I?• When you launch Kindle and the site finishes loading you will arrive at either

your Kindle Library page or the Kindle Reader page – depending on whichlocation you closed from the last time you used the site.

• To access the right controls for this part of the site you need you click Go ToKindle Library or Go To Kindle Reader.

• If you are not sure where you are, click Where Am I? to get a notification tellingyou which button to click.

Library Page• Search – search for a book in your library.

• Menu – go to the Accessible Kindle Menu.

• Up, Down, Left and Right arrows- go one item up, down, left or right in yourlibrary. The currently selected item is highlighted with a yellow border.

• Read – open the selected book and go to the reader page.

• Page Up and Page Down – go one page up or down in your library.

• Read Title – read aloud the title of the selected book

• Stop Reading – stop reading aloud.

Menu• List View – view your library books as a list (as in picture above).

• Grid View – view your library books as a grid (as in picture on previous page).• Sort by Author – sort your books by author name.

• Sort by Recent – sort your books by the time you recently opened them.

• Sort by Title – sort your books title.

• Sync Library – synchronize your library with other devices.

• Utilities – Zoom Out/In, Recover Kindle, Block Touch or Allow Touch access closewindows you do not need, zoom in or zoom out, etc.

• Options – change the computer volume level, toggle text enlargement and adjusttext size, toggle auto-read of titles on or off, Sign Out or Sign In toyour Kindle account, and open the Join-In Settings app.

• Grid Explorer – Exit Join-In Kindle.

Reader View• Exit to Library – exit the reader and go to your library.

• Sync – synchronize your reading progress with other devices.

• Go to – find a specific point in the book, navigating by chapter, bookmarks orpage numbers.

• Previous Page and Next Page – go to the previous or next page.

• Toggle Bookmark – add or remove a bookmark to or from the current page.

• Utilities – Zoom Out/In, Recover, close windows you do not need, etc.

• Reader Options – open the reader options and set the font size, margins, colormode and more. Note that the two column view may require you to zoom out abit.

• Grid Explorer – Exit Join-In Kindle. If you exit using this button, the next time youwill open kindle you will need to click Go To Kindle Reader when the site loads.
