INEOS Silicas and PQ Group agree tocombine

On 2 Jul 2008, following clearance bythe competition authorities, INEOSannounced that it has completed theagreement to combine INEOS Silicasand PQ Corp, the speciality chemicalcompany owned by The CarlyleGroup. The Carlyle Group will hold a60% share and INEOS Capital theremaining 40% of the new company.The new company is to be called PQCorp. It will be a global producer ofspeciality inorganic chemicals,catalysts, and engineered glassproducts and is expected to havesales of around $1 bn/y.
