Much more than a singer-songwriterWhile he is best known for his leadership of the legendary folk-rock band, Redgum, and his Vietnam veterans’ anthem “I was only 19”, there is much more to John Schumann. John has held a number of senior level positions in both State and Commonwealth public agencies including Arts, Tourism and Parliamentary Services.While he continues to enjoy a distinguished career in the Australian music industry, in recent years, John has focused on facilitation, strategic communications solutions and the delivery of training and mentoring services to local government, state government agencies and the private sector.

The session John facilitated for our group was around refining our vision, mission and identifying our key messages. John’s facilitation style challenged and encouraged team members to participate beyond their normal comfort zone. Our team produced excellent outcomes in a relatively short space of time, due to John’s handling of the team dynamics. He elicited contributions from those team members who prefer to be “observers” and turned the deliberately disruptive team members into positive contributors.
