Registration for 2020-21 School Year Registration is open for our Religious Education Program. We welcome children grades 1 through 12.
Your family must be registered with Sacred Heart
Church before you can enroll your child into our Religious Education Program. If you are not a
parishioner of Sacred Heart yet, stop into our office to register. Please read the Parent Handbook on the
Sacred Heart website for important information about our program before you proceed with your child’s
registration. Also, note that in addition to the class,
children are expected to attend Mass each week.
Fund a Religious Education Student Not every family in our parish is able to afford the
registration fees which cover the expense of books and
supplies. If you would like to “adopt” a child/family, the cost is $170 for one child, $315 for two children,
$410 for three children and $455 for four children. Please consider helping out in this difficult time.
Memorialize a Loved One
Sacred Heart Church offers various ways to memorialize a loved one or honor the intentions of a
person/family:
Holy Souls Mass Cards (Not Announced) $15
Bread and Wine $30 Altar Flowers $50
We apologize, at this moment we have no Announced Masses or Sanctuary Candle memorials for the rest of
the year.
Blessed Mother Traveling Statue
A beautiful statue of the Blessed Mother is now
circulating among the parishioners of Sacred Heart. If you would like that statue in your
home, please call the parish office and you to
select a date. The statue will be brought to you on Sunday and will stay in your home for one
week. While the Blessed Mother is resident in your home, it is our wish that you place her in a
place of significance and that you and your
family pray the rosary before her every day. Hopefully the Blessed Mother’s statue will visit
every family in our Sacred Heart parish. If you and your family are interested in having the statue in
your home, call the parish office at 782-8510 and your
name will be added to the list.
Parish Outreach’s Sonshine Boutique is again open for
business. Items can be dropped off on Mondays from
10:00 am – 1:00 pm and on Thursdays from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. For those of you who would like to shop,
you must contact Parish Outreach to schedule a time. Only a few people can be in the boutique at a time.
We need more volunteer ushers and cleaners during
Sunday Masses. To volunteer, please see our
sacristan, Maureen Kussard after Mass or call Gladys at
the parish office.
Healing Prayer to St. Jude
Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, I place myself in
your care. Pray for me; help me remember
that I am not alone in my struggles.
Please join me in asking God to send me
hope in my sorrow, courage in my fear,
and healing in the midst of my
challenges. Please ask our loving God to
fill me with the grace to accept whatever
my life holds and to strengthen my faith in
His healing power. Thank you, St. Jude,
for the promise of hope you hold to all who
believe, and inspire me to give this gift of
hope to others. Amen.
Sacred Heart Wedding Anniversary Mass
Sacred Heart Wedding Anniversary Mass Sunday will be celebrated on October 18. At the 12:00
pm Mass all married couples who have celebrated or will be celebrating their 25th, 50th, 60th or longer
anniversaries in 2019 are cordially invited to renew their wedding vows at this Mass.
The Christian Service Committee may have a
small reception in the St. Theresa room in the Pastoral Center immediately following the Mass. If you would
like to attend, please call Betty Benz at 662-3826. A response is required before October 2nd so that we
can plan accordingly. It is important that you call to let
us know the anniversary you are celebrating and the number of guests who will attend with you. Family and
friends are most welcome at this joyous event.
Those married couples who would like to receive a certificate for their anniversary from the
Archdiocese need to contact the parish office by August 30th.
Today, August 2nd, is Friendship Day. Considering the
valuable role friends play in our life it was deemed to
fit to have a day dedicated to friends and friendship. The United States Congress, in 1935, proclaimed
first Sunday of August as the National Friendship Day. Since then, celebration of National
Friendship Day became an annual event. The noble idea of honoring the beautiful relationship of friendship
caught on with the people and soon Friendship Day
became a hugely popular festival. Following the popularity and success of Friendship Day
in US, several other countries adopted the tradition of dedicating a day to friends. Today, Friendship Day is
enthusiastically celebrated by several countries across
the world including India. In 1997, the United Nations named Winnie - the
Pooh as the world's Ambassador of Friendship.
Importance of Friendship in Bible The Bible, the primary text of the western civilization,
reflects upon friendship as the bond that forms the
foundation to human faith, trust and companionship. The following verses from the bible aptly portray the
importance of friends: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay
down his life for his friends.” John 15:13-15
Make friends with the Angels, who though
invisible are always with you. Often invoke
them. Constantly praise them, and make good
use of their help and assistance in all your
temporal and spiritual affairs.
