What You Need:

Red.

• 3.5mm Crochet Hook

• Black Embroidery Thread

• Yarn Needle

Abbreviations:

• SC – Single Crochet

• DC – Double Crochet

• FPTC – Front Post Treble Crochet

Tractor Body:

Start with the white yarn (this will be the windscreen).

Chain 17 (last chain will be your turning chain)

Row 1-16: Do 1 SC in each chain (16 total), chain 1, turn and switch to chosen tractor colour (I used Green).

Row 18-32: Do 1 SC in each stitch. Chain 1 and turn at the end of each row (12 total).

Row 33: Do 1 SC in the back loop only of each stitch on this row (12 total).

Row 34-48: Do 1 SC in each stitch (12 total).

Row 66-80: Do 1 SC in each stitch (16 total).

Row 81: Do 1 SC in the back loop only of each stitch on this row (16 total).

Row 82-96: Do 1 SC in each stitch (16 total). Chain 1, turn and switch back to white yarn (this will be the

rear windscreen of your tractor).

Row 97-112: Do 1 SC in each stitch (16 total). Chain 1, turn and switch back to MC yarn.

Row 113: Do 1 SC in the back loop only of each stitch on this row (16 total).

Row 114 to 127: Do 1 SC in each stitch (16 total).

Row 128: Bring rows 1 and 127 together ready for stitching (inside should be facing you so the tractor looks

inside out for the time being – the inside will be where your back loop only rows are more obvious), and

slip stitch through every stitch to join.

And so it begins slowly to look like a tractor ...

Tractor Sides (Make 2):

Start with the white yarn (this will be the side window).

Chain 17 (last chain will be your turning chain).

Row 1-16: Do 1 SC in each chain (16 total), chain 1, turn and switch to MC yarn.

Row 17: Do 1 SC in each stitch. Then chain a further 17 (last chain will be your turning chain). (32 total).

Row 18: Do 1 SC in each chain and stitch through to the end of this row (32 total).

Row 19-32: Do 1 SC in each stitch (32 total).

Line up the first tractor side with the tractor body and SC all the way round to join. Fasten off.

You’ll want to secure your safety eyes to the front windscreen now. (I inserted mine into the 5th and 10th

stitches between rows 13 and 14).

Remember to fill your tractor with stuffing before completely joining the second tractor side.

Rear Tractor Wheels (Make 2):

I made these in three parts and joined them together.

For the Tyre Treads, I used the ‘Raised Treble Diagonal Rib Stitch’.

- Tyre Treads (Make 2):

Using the Black yarn, Chain 60 plus 1 for the turning chain.

Row 1: Do 1 SC in each stitch (60 total). Chain 2 and turn.

Row 2: Do 1 DC in each stitch (60 total). Chain 1 and turn.

Row 3: (This row will go back across row 2) Do 1 FPTC around the 3rd post along (This will be directly below

the 3rd DC on row 2 – between rows 1 and 2). Skip the next stitch on this row and do 1 SC in the next 3

stitches. Do another FPTC around the 7th post (Again, this will be directly below the 7th DC on row 2 –

between rows 1 and 2). Skip the next stitch on this row and do 1 SC in the next 3 stitches. Do another FPTC

around the 11th post (Directly below the 11th DC on row 2). Skip next stitch and do 1 SC in the next 3

stitches. Repeat this pattern all the way to the end. You should still have 60 stitches along the top. Chain 2

and turn.

Row 4: Do 1 DC in each stitch (60 total). Chain 1 and turn.

Row 5: Skip the first stitch on this row and do 1 SC in the next 2 stitches. Do 1 BPTC around the first FPTC

on the previous row (This is pretty much the same as the FPTC expect in the opposite direction). Skip the

next stitch and do 1 SC in the next 3 stitches. You should now have what looks like an arrow or half a

diamond. Repeat this pattern to the end of this row. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 6: Do 1 SC in each stitch (60 total).

Row 7: Bring the ends of your work together with the treads facing inwards and slip stitch to join. Fasten

off and weave in ends.

- Hub Caps (Make 4):

Start with the Yellow yarn -

Round 1: Slip knot, chain 4, DC 11 times into the 4th chain from the hook. Slip stitch to the chain at the

beginning of the round. (12 total). Now, you will be working in continuous rounds…

Round 2: INCR, 1 SC in the next stitch. Repeat 6 times. (18 total).

Round 3: INCR, 1 SC in the next 2 stitches (24 total).

Round 4: INCR, 1 SC in the next 3 stitches (30 total).

Round 5: INCR, 1 SC in the next 4 stitches (36 total).

Round 6: INCR, 1 SC in the next 5 stitches (42 total). Switch to Black yarn.

Round 7: Do 1 SC in the front loop only of each stitch on this round (42 total).

Round 8: Do 1 SC in each stitch (42 total).

Round 9: INCR, 1 SC in the next 6 stitches (48 total).

Round 10: INCR, 1 SC in the next 7 stitches (54 total).

Round 11: INCR, 1 SC in the next 8 stitches (60 total).

Round 12: Slip stitch in the back loop only of each stitch to join to rear tyre tread.

Stuff your wheels before completely joining the second hub cap to the tread -

DO NOT OVERSTUFF THE WHEELS AS YOU DON’T WANT THE HUB CAPS TO BALLOON OUTWARDS. STUFF

A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME! When you have finished both rear wheels, thread a long strand of black yarn

through both sides of the wheel, stitching back and forth around the yellow edge of the hub cap, pulling

tight as you go. Weave in ends.

through both sides of the wheel, stitching back and forth around the yellow edge of the hub cap, pulling

tight. Weave in ends.

DON’T ATTACH THE WHEELS UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED ALL THE DETAILS - THEY’LL JUST GET IN THE

WAY. ATTACH THE WHEELS BY USING YELLOW YARN AND THREAD THROUGH THE STITCHES OF THE HUB

CAP ON THE BACK OF THE WHEEL SECURING IT TO THE SIDE OF THE TRACTOR. KEEP STITCHING UNTIL

YOU ARE SATISFIED.

added a few more details:
