During his voyages explored the east coast of Baffin island and the west coast of Greenland

Sighted and landed on the Falkland Island

From 1591-1593 tried to find a passage to Asia via the straight of Magellan but he failed

Took part in a disastrous attempt to circumnavigate the world

Braved freezing temperatures, ferocious gales, and monstrous seas, Icebergs, crushing pack-ice, frostbite, scurvy, and starvation
