A. God Values Relationship

• We know that “God walked in the garden in the cool of the day” implying a relational encounter with man (Gen. 3:8).

In Scripture “Covenant” is Relationship. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people…(Ex 19:5) Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (Eph 2:11-13).

• And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent(Jn 17:3).

• Know (ginosko)-not simply intellectual (book) knowledge, but rather a personal relationship. An intimate involvement or a special familiarity. Meaning we should have a personal experience with God

• Religion is not Relationship

• I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings. (Ho 6:6) NLT

• Trust unto Jehovah with all thy heart, And unto thine own understanding lean not.

• In all thy ways know thou Him, And He doth make straight thy paths. (Prov 3:5-6)YLT

1.TRUST [ba-tach /baw·takh/] First “trust” is relational

• To set one’s confidence in; to believe in a person to the point of total reliance

moral consciousness and the seat of the affections…. the HEART is the SOURCE of man’s LIFE

1.WAYS [derek /deh·rek/]- Path, Road, journey/ (Means: Where I’m headed)

• The word Destiny is a part of this litany of words. In Jer. 10:3:

• Lord, I know that none of us are in charge of our own destiny; none of us have control over our own life.. (Je 10:23). GNT

1.ACKNOWLEDGE [yada` /yaw·dah/] to know(Means:Get to know Him intimately) To know by observing & reflecting (thinking)

To know by experiencing; it is to have an intimate experiential knowledge of HIM

1. Make straight/Direct [yashar /yaw·shar/] --literally, "make plain".

This word include the idea of removing obstacles that are in the way

• 1. PATH [’orach /ora-kah/] - a route: The choice of

roads taken to get to a place (Defining Moments) Often used figuratively for one’s conduct or lifestyle

• It too has ties to “destiny in life”
