Non-Investment Income: In 2009.1 received a fee in a case in which I had been appointed by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals to represenl an Appellant inan appeal of a criminal conviction and sentence. I was compensated for my services on the appeal only for the time I worked on Ihe ca.~e when 1 was still in privatepractice in 2008. I bacame a federal judge ~n October 8, 2 008. The income listed as Non-lnvestment Income (line 1) is the income reported on a Sch edule C (netprofits) reported on my 2009 federal tax return.
