ABOUT CALM The Campaign Against Living Miserably, CALM, is leading a movement against suicide, currently the single
biggest cause of death for men under 45 in the UK. On average, 16 people take their own life each day. Our
free, confidential, and anonymous helpline and webchat service operates every day of the year, 5pm to
midnight, for anyone in the UK who is feeling down or depressed. Through our campaigns and engagement
activities, CALM aims to change culture so that people feel able to seek help before they reach a point of
crisis, and family and friends feel better able to support each other.
ABOUT THE ROLE Our ambition at CALM is to continue to develop and deliver award-winning, highly impactful, engaging
communications. As one of our greatest assets in the fight to stop suicide, we have built a team capable
of bravely communicating in a new way to a massively growing audience. The successful applicant will
be a born do-er, with a thirst to organise, meet deadlines and solve problems.
We have set up an agency-like studio to enable us to produce a wide range of creative and
communication work in-house. We’re looking for someone to manage this studio and some of the
projects that sit within our busy marketing and communications team.
There are many competing priorities and projects from across the organisation and beyond, we’re
looking for someone who is diligent enough to manage these, plan these and find ways of meeting

deadlines, whilst maintaining a personable approach to lead and nurture the most creatively e�ective
work possible from the team.

KEY FOCUS - Being a pivotal player in a great team, making things tick
- Work with all areas of the organisation to manage comms team workflow, production and time,
balancing competing priorities internally and externally
- Enabling people to do amazing things for CALM, empowering them to do so with great e�ect
- Managing other projects as required, adapting to di�erent outputs but maintaining a focus and ability
to ensure great and e�ective delivery of ambitious projects
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the main point of contact for some external partnerships, ensuring knowledge of all deadlines and
responsibilities of various team members, resulting in bomb-proof delivery
- Take the lead when planning studio time amongst team, ensuring productivity (along with creativity
and intellectual rigour) is maximised
- Take briefings from other members of other teams, asking the right questions and managing
expectations as well as pushing for great work
- Really get to understand the priorities of the business and its stakeholders to ensure the best work is
produced on time.
- Manage additional freelancers / agencies when work is produced out of house
- Support team and organisation on partnerships, talent outreach, event management, research,
campaigns and more
- Take the lead on varied projects, being the client / partners main point of contact, ensuring
expectations are managed and met as well as ensuring projects are well communicated internally,
have relevant buy in and are well delivered
- Be adaptable and dependable to plan projects properly, foreseeing roadblocks and ensuring the right
processes are in place to deliver
- General assistance at events where CALM has a presence, occasionally on evenings and
weekends.
