    POSITION PROFILEName: Kasturie Pillay Position Title: Senior Draughtsperson Salary Grade: P06

    Reporting to:General Manager Projects Position Location: Kelvin Department: Power Generation

    Purpose of the Position

    Produce quality project drawings and designs as per clients specifications and thus ensuring that the final product is delivered in a cost efficient way

    within the timelines. Enhance draughting capabilities of the CPG department by developing and managing draughting procedures, tracking systems and

    back up procedures. Providing draughting services to other departments within the CPG business units. Provide support and mentoring of the junior

    draughtsperson

    Key Responsibilities: Workplan Measures/KPIs

    Conceptualise , complete and submit Electrical and Mechanical design drawings usingCompany Software AutoCAD, Solid Works, Pro- Engineer

    Drawing scope includes plant room layouts, canopy designs, container designs, mobileapplications (trailers etc.), line diagrams, schematic diagrams, terminalarrangements, 3D Layouts and rendering, Piping design and BOMs and fluidsimulations.

    Liaise with engineers and customers regarding designs as per requests and providerecommendations, provide feedback on progress and follow up on projects

    Present proposals to engineering and commercial team as per agreed turnaround time,

    customize drawings and designs to meet customer requirementsTrack, monitor and record the status of all projects works in order to produce final asbuiltdrawing packs.

    Maintain a detailed database (Library) for all drawings submitted

    Maintain a database of all CPG factory supplied drawing as per (KENT & Dubai)specifications.

    Conduct market research in order to assist Project Engineers, Service team and theCommercial service team by sourcing technical information with regard to electrical,mechanical equipment and building material as proposed/supplied

    Ensure that all drawings and symbols meet international standards

    Willingness to travel to client site locations within the Cummins Southern Africa region.

    Experience

    Required Preferred

    At minimum of 5 years experience in electrical and mechanical design

    Preference to experience in the Power Generation industry or similarprojects environments

    AutoCAD, Solid Works, Pro-Engineer

    Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

    Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

    Computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills

    Able to perform well under pressure

    Able to coach junior draught personnel if required

    Formal Education / Qualifications / Languages

    Required Preferred

    Minimum Matric certificate

    Certificate Electrical & Mechanical Draughting

    Qualification in engineering would be beneficial (Electrical or

    Mechanical)
