EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR/DEVELOPER

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY Responsible for supporting all interactions with the FaithLife Financial data repository. As a steward of the data, you will implement quality data solutions while ensuring that data integrity, confidentiality, and availability are maintained. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Configure, and maintain database instances, backups, storage, access, and security.

• Monitor and maintain all daily database processes. • Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, query optimization,

and other methods. • Ensure data integrity and data security of production and non-production

databases. • Collaborate with Business Analysts to maintain and create SSRS reports.

• Create and maintain database objects such as tables, indexes, views, queries, triggers, stored procedures, functions, and integration services packages.

• Create and maintain database, process, and application documentation. • Assist in the management of the hardware and software as related to the

operations SQL Server, including system development, capacity planning, maintenance, and recommendations of new technology solutions.

• Create and maintain utility applications to support and automate operational processes.

• Assist with developing and implementing standard operating procedures for database maintenance and configuration.

• Mentor and provide support to Programmer Analysts using best practices for database design, programming, and tuning.

• Assist IT Help Desk and other support staff with database and reporting services issues.

• Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

• Strong overall knowledge of SQL Server 2008+ administration • Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler,

SQL Server Agent, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, and Bulk Load • Experience in data migrations, data manipulation, and reporting for end user

consumption using SQL Reporting Services • Experience in .Net application development • Experience in development life cycle process and code version management • Excellent written and verbal skills, dedicated troubleshooting efforts, ability to

work independently and manage multiple projects EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years working experience with SQL server, including responsibilities as an SQL database developer or as an SQL database administrator (or with most DBA responsibilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar • Microsoft Certification or equivalent is an asset • Understanding of insurance products is an asset
