Accountable to Directors at Psychology Associates
Key Working RelationshipsThe post holder will develop key relationships with a wide range of individuals and agencies including, but not exclusively:
Directors and employees of Psychology Associates Social Care Staff Health Professionals Education Staff Voluntary Agencies Other providers
Job PurposeTo provide support to Psychology Associates under the supervision of a registered clinical psychologist and administration manager across the following areas:
1. Administration 2. Project work3. Clinical work4. Audit/Research and service evaluation
Total hours: 5 days
Job Summary Support the administration team in a variety of tasks Undertake regular scoring and checking of the Trauma Scale Checklist for Children (project
work) Support the development of the psychological services at Psychology Associates Assist in service evaluation and research/audit projects To complete other tasks requested by their supervisor, as and when requested.

Overview of Responsibilities:
Administration Receive enquiries from other professionals and prospective clients Place work with clinicians Manage diaries/arrange appointments Enter information onto the database
Training Programme: Help create and distribute promotional materials to appropriate audiences Help organise venues and packs for training courses Attend training and help run the event Help organise and evaluate feedback
TSCC Project Work: Score the TSCCs Liaise with clinicians regarding specific queries Check the TSCCs that have been scored by others Update the spreadsheet
Clinical (under supervision by a Clinical Psychologist): Learn about psychological formulation from a variety of theoretical models. Observe clinical interventions. Assist clinicians in the delivery of psychological intervention such as preparing literature
reviews and materials. Develop awareness of issues of confidentiality, consent, care standards and complaints
procedures.
Policy: To be aware of all policies and procedures within the day to day running of Psychology
Associates
Teaching, training and supervision Receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines Gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that
provided within the principal service area where the post-holder is employed Develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties Contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care
Service Development Assist in service development projects within the practice as required. Attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.
Research and Evaluation: To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence based practice
in individual work, and work with other team members. Undertake appropriate research and literature reviews. Assist with audit, service and outcome evaluation, with colleagues within and across the
service to help develop and improve services for clients.
Information and Technology: Complete necessary administration and information management tasks through the effective
use of IT systems, including spreadsheets, word processing, database, internet and e-mail. To be responsible for utilising statistical packages for analysing data collected in audit,

evaluation and research projects. Develop knowledge and utilise computer assisted tools within clinical psychology work. Keep up to date with recording activity data, recorded onto computerised databases to
analyse workload and efficiency.
General: Ensure the development, maintenance and dissemination of the highest professional
standards, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
Keep specialist equipment safe and secure. Ensure clinical, administrative and organisational procedures are followed and completed on
time. Ensure good liaison with other professionals. Work to professional standards, in accordance with professional codes of practice of the
British Psychological Society and Psychology Associates polices and procedures. Have an up-to-date enhanced DBS check or to provide the relevant information for
application. To manage own work load and prioritising daily tasks.
Working Environment: Practice development and clinical work will require extended periods of time working at desk
and using computers.
